Bug? Problems when switching to a new layout...

Currently, when I switch to a new layout a couple of things happen that probably shouldn't...

1. I get a black screen and the dreaded "Not Responding" message (I'm using Vista) for about 5 seconds, and then the new layout eventually appears.

2. L4 moves to the furthest position to the right in my Taskbar (Vista). In other words, L4 acts like it was shut down and reloaded, hence the 'new' position in my Taskbar.

Any thoughts and/or suggestions?

Logos likes to gobble system resources; when it's thinking hard it doesn't respond well to your input. Personally I just look at the "Don't Panic" on my Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy when this happens. #2 Sounds like another fine example of Vista's legendary quirks.

I get the "Not Responding" in the title bar as well whenever Logos is taking an unusually long time to do something. It happens with some other applications, too. It hasn't necessarily crashed (unless you wait forever and it never comes back), but it probably isn't behaving in a polite manner for a Windows app. It should put up an hourglass and yield control back to Windows while it goes off and does its processing; and Windows will let it do its processing during idle CPU cycles but won't freeze up the whole machine waiting for the app to get back to you. That's the way multi-tasking normally works in Windows. When you get the "Not Responding" message, I think it's because an app is hogging CPU cycles. But I'm not positive. It's been a while since I've done any Windows programming.

Opening complex layouts in Logos 4 is currently not as fast as it could be. I've already complained about this, and hopefully the performance will be improved in a later release.

That doesn't happen for me. It sounds odd, but isn't life-threatening. I wouldn't worry about it. Take two aspirin and call me in the morning.

It's only life-threatening if a person is OCD and really really likes having his programs lined up in a certain order along the taskbar. Okay, maybe it's still not life-threatening, but...

I've always wished there was a way in Windows to reorder the programs on the taskbar. I'm a bit OCD too. I always like my calendar to be the very first icon on the left so I can bring it back up to the top immediately without having to hunt for it. So I open it automatically at Startup. But if for any reason I have to close it and re-open it (e.g., a new version of the software downloads or something), it drives me batty that its taskbar icon is over on the right. I pretty much have to restart Windows in order to be able to continue working without going crazy...

This is built in to Windows 7 (and pinning programs helps a lot, too). In previous versions of Windows, I used Taskbar Shuffle (http://nerdcave.webs.com/).
