How do I get "notes" to default to "reference - on"?

I'm new to Logo's and I use a Kindle fire to run the app. I think this is the right forum for my question. When I attach a note to a portion of scripture I essentially always want that note to reference to all versions of the Bible that I use. My understanding is, to do that the "reference" tab needs to be set in the "on" position. The default is for it to be set to "off". If I make a mistake and forget to turn it on, there seems to be no option to go back later and change it. At that point I just have to erase the entire note and start over with the reference tab turned "on". I would like the default setting for reference tab to be the "on" setting. Is there a way to do this?

    Hi Bruce

I understand what you are looking for but there isn't - to the best of my knowledge - anyway to set reference to be "always on"

But I do think this is a good suggestion[Y]

You might want to suggest this on the Logos Mobile Apps uservoice site - https://logosmobile.uservoice.com/forums/190765-logos-mobile-apps

And hopefully someone from the development team will comment.

Hey Bruce, I think there IS a way to get close to what you want.

There are multiple ways to create a new note/highlight in the app. It sounds like what you're doing is highlighting some text and picking "Note" from the selection menu. I think the expected use case is that you don't want to attach the note to a reference when you create a note that way, which is why the "Attach to reference" switch defaults to "off".

Another way you can create a note is using the "Add note" button in the action bar when you have a resource open (it looks like a little pencil with a plus sign on it). If you click that button, you'll get a list of the references that are on screen and you can pick which one you want to attach a note to. In this case, you won't even get an "Attach to reference" switch - it will just be attached, since that's how you chose to create the note.

Hopefully that helps explain things and maybe provide a good workaround for you!

You're absolutely right about how I was doing it. Thanks for helping me out, Drew. I'll start adding the notes the way you've suggested.
