Two finger scrolling unpredictable

As of the latest update (4.4.5 344), one of the more helpful features in Logos for Android is completely broken on my LG G Pad 8.3: two finger scrolling. While it used to be great for moving the text slightly to get a full paragraph on the screen (for instance), now it is so jumpy that there is no predicting what text will be on the screen when I let go. An example: I was in 1 Peter 5, tried scrolling a bit, and ended up in Hebrews 5.

It appears to me that this last build change the text renderer to some degree, and perhaps that is related?

I don't see this on my Motorola phone.

But are you aware that you can now do single-finger scrolling? Enable via "Scroll view" in "View Settings"

If you turn that on and use single-finger scrolling does it scroll smoothly?

Thanks for the reply. I hadn't noticed that new feature. The single finger scrolling method does work fine--a bit choppy sometimes as it loads on the fly, but definitely usable. Still, though, I'm wondering what might have changed.

For the sake of comparison, I also opened Logos on my OnePlus One (I rarely use it on my phone if my tablet is handy). The two finger scrolling there was less extreme than it was on my LG, but it still seems jerkier than I recall.

I have the same on multiple Nexus 7's, Sometimes it jitters, then jumps 20-30 pages.

I will try the single scroll.

I have this problem on the Samsung Galaxy S3. I was so happy when it got two-finger scrolling that matched what I'd been used to on my iPad for a long time. "Unpredictable" is too soft a term - it's unusable.

I agree. Have same problem on a Nexus 7 as well. Works just fine on my LG G2, but pretty much unusable on the Nexus

I also have the problem on my Kindle Fire with version 4.4.6 of the Logos app. Two finger scrolling is so bad it's totally unusable.

Yes... turning on one finger scrolling eliminates the terrible jittering and jumping, but when that feature is turned on, you can't swipe the screen to change pages... you have to tap the screen. That's a real headache when you have links scattered all through the text of the resource and you can't just tap the screen without first finding a location without a link so you actually turn the page instead of constantly activating links you don't want activated.

The 4.4.6 Android version of the app is also not synching with my windows version of Logos, but I guess that should be addressed in another thread.

I called support about this and spoke with a woman (don't recall her name) who seemed very hesitant as to what to do with my call--she just gave me a slow and very cautious response that if this was a common problem, support was probably aware of it and it would probably be fixed at some point down the road. [:S]

I sure hope the problem is on supports radar.

Yes, it's on the radar and a case has been written up.

The Android apps represent a very small percentage (about 2%) of support calls and not everyone is super familiar with all of the features in the apps (the two-finger vs. one-finger scrolling difference is pretty new since the latter is a newer feature).

We also don't make promises or give ETA's about fixes, features, etc. There's a reason for being cautious and hesitant - we don't want to be misleading or give a false impression.

Kevin, thank you for the info. I understand that support is not likely to make promises regarding resolution dates. Project priorities can shift radically on a daily basis and quite simply, a fix isn't a fix until it's actually deployed.

My concern was in regard to the nature/tone of the response I received when I called in--i.e. when the conversation ended, I couldn't even tell if the problem was actually recognized as a real issue, let alone if it was being looked into. Your comment about the Android app representing such a small percentage of support calls helps explain the nature/tone of that response.

Got the update and the scrolling is working again in the sense that it's not skipping pages or sections (Thanks!), but... on my Kindle Fire HD it is still very jumpy--not at all as smooth as I recall it being in the past or like the one-finger scrolling is now. Anyone else with a similar experience?

I don't wish the problem on anyone, but it's good to know it's not just a Kindle issue. Hopefully they'll get it fixed. Doesn't seem to me that it should be any harder to get it right than for one finger scrolling, but... I've never coded "touch" programs so I don't really know.
