OK, took the plunge on the Ephesians collection, here's what I got 17 books for $70.85, that's $4.16 per book, its really a great deal compared to regular price:
I'm pondering the Matthew's gospel collection which would be 71 volumes at $329 or $4.50 per book. Am wondering whether there's any discount for ordering several Christmas collections?
I think these Christmas bundles are fantastic deals, but in some ways, I'd much rather have one discounted commentary series that covers all books of the bible than 71 new commentaries that just cover one specific book. I will wait for the 12 days of Logos to complete before making a decision in case there are going to be any entire commentary sets available.

actually I kinda dig this--especially heading into study a particular book--getting relevant commentaries across many series would be cost-prohibitive if I had to buy the series. Now I can just get the collection. Still waiting for ICC @ 90% off, however. [:P]

I wasn't able to get any further discount, but I still feel I got a great deal.

Yeah, I understand that. I think it's a very subjective preference. It is really good for people who are interested in one specific book (providing, of course, that your book of choice has been included). The Matthew deal is excellent because it includes 3 ICCs... Isn't the ICC on some kind of fixed contract which means they're very limited in terms of being able to ever put it on sale?

absolutely! and I am glad we are all served, for the most part, with Logos. incidentally, what particular series are you interested in?

I have no official clue, but that would be my hunch. However, if I could afford the Collector's edition, I'm pretty sure ICC would be at a really good discount! [:D]
Pillar New Testament, ICC, Eerdmans Critical Commentary, Teach the Text, Navarre Old Testament, Brazos Theological Commentary, Tyndale Commentaries, Word Biblical Commentary, Paideia Commentary, New Interpreter's Bible, Anchor Yale Bible, Sacra Pagina and International Theological Commentary. (There is, sadly, almost no bundle that can service any more than two of my commentary requirements so it looks as though I will just wait for them to appear on sale... )

Yeah, I think ICC is included in Collector's Edition! In fact, Collector's Edition probably turns out to be a ridiculously good deal over an entire lifetime of Logos purchases. It's just that most people don't have $9k to shell out on bible software

There was recently introduced a large collection of Romans commentaries, that must have been received well so these collections seem a logical follow up, though they dont' seem to be permanent collections like the Romans collection. I don't mind a book based commentary collection as I already have my share of commentary series and I get to pick up a variety of commentaries from sets I don't have to explore what they are like while beefing up the materials I have available on specific books of the bible, but appreciate your need and hope that gets fulfilled one day Rayner.

DOC- getting some commentaries out of sets I do not own was what motivated me to look at these collections. Ephesians I already have 139 commentaries and 46 monographs- so adding 17 books I had no representation from certain collections seemed like a win, win for me. Their cost was definitely less than purchasing 14 different sets to get.
Wow... 139 commentaries on Ephesians... *impressed* I imagine it was a very good deal for you

I always find Ephesians such a book full of so much depth. A good choice, I hope if brings you much encouragement and new understanding Whyndell as you use these new resources to study Ephesians.
