Is there a way to separate ratings vs. reviews. They are the same category but they are not the same thing. If I rate something I have only selected a number, but a review is an actual posting of an opinion on the product. Thoughts?

I think since some time recently we now can differentiate, since Faithlife .com now posts the review text alongside the resource picture - if there is text. See the diference:
Yeah I know we can do that, I was thinking about more of only seeing written reviews. (I know I know...I'm picky)
