Label Entry: Inputting and Editing

I'm just starting to get to grips with this great new feature, particularly this week as I'm preparing to preach on Daniel 11. I wanted to add labels to all the references to various kings - their name, dates, and which empire they belonged to.

That's all great, and I can get it to work but with a few hiccups.

1) I wanted the names of the kings to appear as Biblical People. I was unsure because not all the kings here (in fact most of them) aren't strictly 'biblical' people. However, I found the L6 accepted some like Ptolemy I Soter (Dan 11:5), but not others (like Antigonus I Monophthalmus his commander also in v5)! It would be great to be able to input 'People' even if they are not listed in the Biblical People dataset.

2) Once I've inputted the initial information I might want to go back and edit/ add more details. However, I discovered that to do this I have to right click on the label, click Open Annotation, then select Edit Label from the drop down list. It would be so much easier if I could simply click on the label and have the popup data input box re-appear.

If anyone has any wisdom on what I might be doing wrong please let me know. Otherwise, these would be some great fixes for future releases.

Actually, I'm now also struggling to input dates!

There are values available for Biblical Events and Timeline Events, but nothing it seems for general dates. I can use the "Text" value, but I wonder if there might be 'value' to having a specific option for inputting dates.

Other problems associated with Label Input...

Pop-up box cannot be moved once open, making it difficult to read information in other open panels.
Once pop-up box is open, other panels become inactive and cannot be scrolled or moved at all (if they could then the first problem wouldn't be so much of a problem!)
When editing a label within the Notes file, Lists does not show original values (e.g. If my list contained Seleucid, Ptolemaic, Babylonian etc. they do not appear. Instead autocomplete makes suggestions.
The Label Entry pop-up box requires you to either select its suggestion or click the arrow in order to accept the entry. Otherwise the entry will show up as '?'

They have to be part of the dataset if using Biblical Person! Use Text as a workaround.

Try right clicking the highlight (or any word). Find your label name on the RHS and then click "Edit Label" on LHS

I had come to this conclusion. It was a little confusing at first, though, as some of the non-Biblical persons seemed to be accepted - probably more prominent ones like Alexander the Great, while more obscure ones didn't feature.

Many like that are found in the LXX but I get no result for <Person Ptolemy I Soter> except for a Factbook reference hinting he may be Daniel's "King of the South"!.
