Logos not working in Airplane mode
I just got off a plane, and Logos on the iPad was unusable during the trip. None of the many books I had downloaded onto the device would open -— just a spinning ball instead. This behavior seems to have started with the most recent update.

I just turned my iPad into Airplane mode, I use Verbum mobile app. When I went to Library, I see the 10 or so resources I have downloaded. I could pull all of them up fine. I know some of the advanced features don't work, but I didn't have any trouble with reading resources, reading plans, etc. You may want to try again? Try a hard reset of your device too, while you are out of Airplane mode. Good luck!

I'm unable to open any books in my library when off-line. This has been going on since the latest update. I spend a lot of time off-line and have to use OT's app. Logos needs to take take pride in their mobile apps. The most expensive horse is not always the best.

Wow! It worked. Restarted app after typing this in the home page and hitting enter. Thanks Alabama24!

The rebuild command suggestion did not work for me — still unable to access my downloaded books while offline. I guess I will just use Olive Tree until they get this bug fixed.

Eric ... I too was on vacation. In my case I'd bought some books but they wouldn't show up in my library. I couldn't even get to the 'download' point. The eventual solution was to force the desktop to update the mobile (I think they're separate, on the Logos servers).
Today, I found out that even if a resource isn't viewable on mobile (but downloaded), other resources can get info from it (eg verse text). That's reassuring.
4.4's got mucho issues. Laughingly, I had the same thought as you ... tomorrow I'll probably use either Olivetree or Laridian.

Yes, it is very frustrating. I tried the reset suggestion — it did not help. I am reluctant to reinstall the app because I don't want to re-download all of the books, particularly when there is no guarantee it will even make a difference. (I have 7000+ Logos books.)

I'm sorry it's not working for you. Unless you have fast internet access, you may want to hold off on re-installing the app. Logos may have a new IOS version soon. Alabama24 may have further suggestions.

Sorry Eric! [:s]
I am often known as the guy who tells everyone not to download too many books... This is one of those reasons. The best fix for many issues that pop up is to do a fresh install. In this case, feel free to wait and see if Logos has any other suggestions.

Aarghh! I just spent about a week downloading my books after the recent trouble with the Logos server. It looks like I don't have much choice but to go through the whole exercise again.

I experienced this problem also where my iPad was not even showing books I bought. I fixed it by going to iMac version and ticking the "Download to" for mobile devices

Is your mobile library filtered in any way? For example: I leave my library filtered with local: so that only downloaded resources show. Set up this way, new resources will NOT appear because they haven't been downloaded! Any kind of filter might be responsible and explain this behavior.

I'm having a similar problem. Resources shown as DOWNLOADED do not load, only a spinning daisy wheel. Could not use at all during the morning commute. Resources that are downloaded should be able to be accessed without an internet connection, shouldn't they? Is there going to be a fix for this?

We believe this issue has been resolved in internal builds and the fix should be available in Version 4.4.2.

ManilaDave ... per chance you end up purchasing books while away from your Mac, and them not downloading (which has been an issue now for 6 months, off and on), I found out tonight, after it gives up looking for your purchase, if you change the sort (I changed mine to 'recent'), suddenly, there it is!
Maybe the update will get some testing this time.

Thanks Kevin for keeping us updated. Will be looking for this update. Mine no longer works off-line.

I sure hope so! I did a factory reset on my iPod (iOS6) and reinstalled Logos. It is still completely unusable. As soon as I try to open a Bible, (and I never got the chance to try anything else), I get the spinning daisy wheel until the app crashes. When I reopen it goes straight to a spinning daisy wheel trying to open the NET Bible - even though that was not the Bible I was trying to open - until it crashes again.
This is the second reset I've done since the latest update that caused the "damage." In between I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times. I've done I don't know how many "rebuild index" exercises, hard starts, etc. Nothing works. It just spins the daisy wheel, freezes the app and eventually crashes. Logos just no longer works on my iPod.
I've no problems with my iPad Air or Android phone.
