Can't open Bibles on my iPhone since 4.40 update
I can't open my ESV Bible, or any Bible for that matter, since the latest update (4.40). Other resources will open, but they do so very slowly. Anyone else having his issue? My iPhone is an older 3GS but it is running OS 6.1.6 and until the latest update it was doing fine.

Welcome to the forums Brent!
There seemed to be a problem for some users on this release. Be sure that in the Library pane you don't see tht it wants to download new copies of your resources already downloaded on the mobile device.
If there are none or it completes and you still have the problem, type the command "rebuild index" into the reference box on the home screen. (Please note this is an "undocumented feature" and there is no acknowledgement for it - you will probably see the network activity indicator going while the reindexing is taking place).
That will probably fix it - if not, post back and there are a couple of other things to try.

Thanks for the response Don. I tried the "rebuild index" command, the indicator showed that it was working to rebuild, but the bibles still won't open.

I'm wondering about two things re this action:
1) How do I delete a Bible from my iPhone library when it isn't downloaded to my phone but stored online?
2) I've also had problems opening other Bibles (NASB, NIV84) -- would I have to do this for all my Bibles and if so, that's a huge task.
Thanks for your response

No need to delete if it has never been downloaded but download should fix your problem. If you have many bibles to download this can be done by going to your library and creating a filter for the bibles you would like to download and at the top there is a download all. "Download all" is not visible by default you will need to swipe down to see it. See the screen shot below for an example.
The only easy way I know to remove all dowloaded bibles is remove app and reinstall. This might be an overkill if you have downloaded many resources.

As Bob explained, no need to delete if it ain't downloaded...

If the book isnt downloaded, the first possibility is either a problem with your internet connection, or a problem with the Logos servers. In this case, try downloading it and/or another internet connection.

I downloaded the ESV as per your suggestion and I am able to open it. However, if I click an active Scripture link from another open resource, say a commentary, it won't open.

Now I can't even open the ESV that I just downloaded. Thanks for all the help, folks, but I'm going to stay with my desktop and wait to use my phone until Logos fixes whatever they did with update 4.40.

We've fixed this issue with internal builds and the issue should be resolved in an upcoming stable release (4.4.2).
Please note that support for iOS 6.x will end soon. When support ends, newer versions of the Faithlife apps will only be available for devices running iOS 7 or above.

I'm experiencing the same problem with the same OS on my iPod. I've tried all of the solutions suggested in this thread - multiple times. Twice I've even done a factory reset on the iPod itself. I've done multiple reinstalls of Logos and nothing helps. I just get a spinning daisy wheel, the app freezing and eventually crashing.
Is there any way those of us running iOS 6.1.6 can go back to the version previous to update 4.40?

Thanks Kevin, I'll look for the 4.4.2 update. When is support for iOS 6.x to end? Will I still be able to use my Bible app but not receive future updates?

Soon, but I don't have an exact date to give you since I don't know.

Yes.
