References Broken from TLNT to BAGD

Hello,

Attempting to open a link to A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature (BAGD) results in an error in an embedded store web page.

Open the Theological Lexicon of the New Testament (TLNT)
Go to the entry for καταλλαγή (katallagē, reconciliation - from Romans 5:10)
Tap the link for BAGD, then tap A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature; or tap the link for 414
Note that instead of opening the reference, a web view to this store is opened with an error message: We're sorry! We couldn't find that product

Performing the same task in Logos 5.2a opens the reference as expected.

I get the same error on my PC: I don't have a license for this product. Go to the web link and "sorry couldn't find that product". I better contact CS tomorrow..

I get the same thing, as well as a lot of other references to the BAGD resource that I ran into before. The TLNT (and other) resources should really be re-tagged to the BDAG. BAGD is the older resource and Logos does not carry that anymore.

I would love to hear a response from Logos on this.

It is an important decision point whether I purchase the BDAG to know whether links to BAGD in resources such as TLLNT either work for BDAG now or is in the plans to fix. I fully understand that BDAG replaced BAGD. I hope Logos is thinking of ways to xref links from older resources to their newer replacements. Given the prominence of BAGD/BDAG, it seems like a worthy endevour.

I think there's a bug here: the version that TLNT is pointing to is the 1979 edition of BDAG, which is the Third Edition, the one that is currently sold. It should, therefore, be pointing to the right resource. When I checked further, the "you don't have a license" page is referring to LLS:BGD, whereas the resource information for my BDAG is as below.

I can't make any of the links from TLNT to BDAG work at all at the moment, and am pretty sure they used to. On checking, I also noticed that TLNT was updated in October of this year, so I suspect the problem is probably the updating of the resource rather than L6. I suggest you start a new thread with the word BUG: in the title and link it to this thread: this current thread is unlikely to get the developers' attention.

The same could fix the problem with Exegetical summary series: they point to BAGD and I have BDAG (hope I got it correctly!)

We're checking into this. The text of TLNT references pages of BAGD, not headwords.

The references in TLNT are correct in linking to BAGD and have not changed in the last two years. The only change was to add smart selection data.

Can this be fixed at all? Some newer users of Logos will not have the opportunity to buy or obtain a BAGD (it's no longer available), which probably wouldn't be a good idea anyway.

I'm not sure what there is to "fix" short of changing the TLNT text and adding new references to BDAG, which probably a violation of our contract with the publisher. BAGD page 472 is not the same as BDAG page 472.

As a workaround, you can right click on the headword and get to the entry in BDAG through the context menu.

The solution is probably a new TLNT that references BDAG, rather than to fix the current TLNT.

The workaround is how most (that have an issue with this) is working with it. It's not ideal, but it works.

At least if one has BDAG as their highest prioritized lexicon, a double-click on the headword will go there much faster.

Thanks NB, I've been meaning to re-prioritize my resources (with BDAG and HALOT at the top. Just haven't gotten around to it. [:)]
