Off-topic: non-Logos Amazon books

I'm a big proponent of Logos. Used 10+ years, several thousand dollars. But sometimes there are books outside Logos' purview or that they just can't get (yet).

For those times, I'm glad Amazon does occasional things like 25% off any single book.

You haven't diverted the milkman. I buy from Amazon regardless of Logos. Especially if I want the book and Faithlife doesn't offer it or even if the book is a pre-pub. I simply don't want to wait.

Unfortunately this deal does not apply to Kindle books, and that's the main kind I buy from Amazon these days. And sometimes used books through their network of booksellers, but it doesn't apply to those either. Oh well.

This is a bit of a grey area... since he was not saying get this Logos resource cheaper at Amazon. We all know of many books that we want that will likely never end up in Logos. It is off topic but not really worse than people who tell about really good sales on laptops/tablets/SSD. I am sure Ben never meant to violate forum rules and I am not 100% sure he did. Although i am fairly sure he would not have if had not included the link. That said I thank Ben for his consideration and wish him and all a Merry Christmas too.

Thanks Ben. FWWI, I went to Amazon to look for some John Frame theology books, did some research and looked at prices, then it dawned on me to see what John Frame volumes were available here... ended up buying them here.

Twas certainly not my intention. I thought it was clear that I buy from Logos whatever I can. I obviously can't buy what Logos doesn't sell, and I've made many suggestions over the years of books I'd like Logos to carry so I can give them my money. [:P]

But for these other books, we can either wait years to read them in Logos... or buy legally through Amazon.

To give one example, I've been working on a manuscript on Genesis 1. I bought, over a year ago, In the Beginning, We Misunderstood.

But now it's coming in Logos, so I put in for the prepub, and it's due to ship soon

Thanks for the heads up on that! I'd overlooked it, and have now put in an order. So not only did you not cause me to buy something from Amazon that I might have otherwise bought from Faithlife, you actually caused me to spend $8.39 on a Logos resource. Gee, thanks! [;)]

I have my own interpretation of Genesis 1 and I think everybody else is wrong, but I still keep on buying books about this subject just in case

One of the books I just bought from AMZN was Paradise to Prison: Studies in Genesis because I'm beginning a study of Genesis. Thanks for this resource. I did not know about it either.

The postage is very cost prohibitive for me as well as the current currency exchange rate and my finances. I do sometimes buy printed matter but it's been a year (and then it was my dad who ordered and paid it) since ordering anything from AMZN. I rather buy at other sites such as abebooks where the seller can decide the postage. I also don't want recommendations based on all or most of my purchases.

I would like to have a (preferably academic) Jas commentary by an Anglican, Episcopalian, Catholic or a proponent of "Gnosticism". Can anyone point me to one? Just the (title and) author if You don't want to give a link.
