For those that are interested. I just posted a brief review of the Onyx Boox Afterglow 2.

    https://community.logos.com/forums/t/97340.aspx

In my opinion this is a much better solution and I'm finding it to be very functional.

Is this feature only for Logos 6 or for all Logos users? I am running L5 (really, L4 with a L5 crossgrade) and have not seen the "send to kindle" link in the 5 or 6 resource panel menus that I just pulled up. The only link I am seeing is the "manage mobile devices." Secondly, if this is a L6 only feature, will one (or any) of the L6 crossgrades unlock it for me? Thanks in advance.

for clarification: there is a difference between base packages / cross grades and the software engine. The "send to kindle" is a feature of the L6 engine, not of a base package. If you want the feature NOW, you will need to make a purchase. Otherwise you can wait until February when the L6 engine will be free for all.

This is definitely one of the coolest features of Logos 6.

I like reading my books on the Kindle app rather than the Faithlife app. Why? Because I like the ability to control how fast my pages flip. The Faithlife app has a kind of auto-flip when you want to turn a page. I am picky about that. If Faithlife improves that, I would rather read my books on the Faithlife app.

I don't thin so. However, since one has to go through customer service to change your Kindle account, I'd suggest you contact customer service - they would know for certain and would be the ones to do it, if it can be done.

On the Amazon website, in your Kindle settings, make sure personal document archiving is enabled. That way when you send it to one device it will also be archived as part of your amazon account and then on the other device you can view all of your library in the cloud and download from there. (On the device, tap the Home icon in the upper left and then tap the text 'Cloud' or whatever the equiv is depending on which device you have.)

In order to prevent fraud, no. This is also why users can't manually change the associated email address within L6. As has been mentioned, if you are using the same account, you should be able to download the resource on another device tied to your Amazon account.

Having a bit of a problem here. I had followed the video here: https://www.logos.com/training/logos6/desktop/send-to-kindle

It has some subtle differences than what is in the start of this post, mainly putting in @logos.com (from the video) and "Set Kindle Account to..." vs. just "Set Kindle to...".

I've got both logos.com and noreply@logos.com in Amazon. And my first try of "Set Kindle Account to..." gave me a message that it was linked.

I have the option to send books now, but each time I try, I get a never-ending "Kindle upload in progress". I enabled logging and I  have no real clue what the data really means, but does this second line indicate a Logos server issue, my issue, or unrelated?

So, of course, as soon as I post this, some of the books I'd been trying to send start feeding into the Kindle app on my iPad.

Maybe it was a server issue, then? I'd still be curious to know if that second entry was telling me that there was a Logos server issue.

By the way... another happy customer with this feature. I like to read on my Kindle app and have my highlights saved through the Amazon Highlights feature. Just upgraded to 6 today and I dare say Send to Kindle might be the feature I love the most so far.

This is the best feature of the last few versions.   I am now a happy Kindle user as well!

Logos 6 wasn't working well, so I totally reinstalled it, only to find out that the Send to Kindle no longer exists under manage mobile devices.

I sent an e-mail to tech support many days ago but have not received a reply. I am very disappointed that no-one has replied to my e-mail.

I tried to use the Set Kindle to (kindle address) command, but of course it is not available, since I had previously used it. [:(]

Is it possible to go the other way- move a Kindle book to my Logos Library?

No Kindle to Logos is not supported by Amazon. Nerds can do it but ,,,

Just ran into an issue that takes the usefulness out of the Send to Kindle feature, at least for me. I'm wondering if anyone has a solution.

First off, the problem isn't with Logos or the Send to Kindle feature itself. That works great and I'm appreciative of the feature.

But what I've found is that, since the books you send are put in the Doc directory of the iPad Kindle app, any highlights you make there don't get sync'd up with Amazon. In fact, I can't find any way to export my highlights from a Logos book in Docs like I can with Amazon-bought books. I can see them all within the app, just can't export them.

Maybe I'm missing something. However, a Google search tells me that this is standard procedure for anything in the Docs portion of the app. Still, I live in hope that someone here may know something I don't on this topic.

If not, it kind of kills this feature for me. Again, not the fault of Logos at all. This one appears to be totally on Amazon.

Unfortunately, you're right -- it's totally on Amazon. This is done automatically to any document sent to them before sending to the device.

I'm not sure we're talking about the exact same thing.

It sounds like you're saying the Send to Kindle process strips out any highlighting or notes I might have made within Logos.

But I'm asking about highlights I make in books in the iPad Kindle app after I've sent them from Logos to Kindle.

    In other words:

    1. Send book from Logos to Kindle app.

    2. Open Logos book in Kindle app.

    3. Make highlights so I can actually remember important stuff I read.

    4. Export highlights from app... wait... where's the button for that? Are you kidding me?!?!? Shouldn't you be able to do that?!?!? How on earth did someone at Amazon suggest that and get approval from everyone else to leave out that functionality?!?!?

    That's my scenario. [*-)]

Use the Kindle (Android) app if you want things to sync. Send to Kindle is just for reading.

Hi Todd - and welcome to the forums

Is it possible for my purchased Vyrso books too?

    In general, yes

Some books (I think Zondervan-published is an example) can't be sent

Sorry, I think I found where the Vyrso books are visible in Logos and you just go from there.  Tks.

Vyrso books are found in the library along with all other books. They are designated as edition:ebook (or edition:e for short).

    Genesis 2:24 (NKJV)

24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

    Now to my question [;)]

How Do I send a book to my wife's Kindle, when I have already activated my own Kindle? e.g. I have registred husbond@kindle.com but would like my wife to read on wife@kindle.com?

  • MJ. Smith
MJ. Smith Member, MVP Posts: 53,043 ✭✭✭✭✭

Quick answer - you don't. You hand her your Kindle 'cause after all you are one flesh so you co-operate to your collective benefit.
