I took great joy owning portfolio Logos 5 because I was afforded a 50% discount on all bible study collections and because I had to work so hard to get it. Now they tell me I no longer own portfolio under logos 6. I am so discouraged about the thousands of dollars I have invested in this program. If I would have known how this would happen I would have stayed with E-sword which is free

Is your concern that you lose some of your L5 portfolio resources (which you don't), that you no longer get 50% discount on bundles or something else?

Perhaps you are confused about terminology. You do still own the same Portfolio you bought under Logos 5. Each new version of Logos comes out with expanded versions of the base packages, so the Portfolio they sell now under L6 has more resources in it. You don't automatically get the new resources. But if you were to upgrade to the new larger Portfolio package, you'd get credit for all the L5 Portfolio resources you already own. This is called dynamic pricing.

Your thousands of dollars invested will never go to waste. Logos/Faithlife will never remove from you resources that you already owned before.

If your resources are missing in your new installation of L6, let us know so we can help you recover them.

Or if you haven't installed/upgraded to L6 yet but are just worried about it, perhaps my explanation above can put your mind at ease.

By the way, the upgrade to L6 will be FREE come February when you'll be able to get just the core engine upgrade without any updated base package. They're having a sale right now for new base packages (15% off) to encourage people to upgrade, but you are not required to do it that way if you would prefer just the free update.

New base packages is a GREAT thing. I had Logos 4 Platinum. When Logos 5 came out, new base packages had new books. I incrementally purchased Logos 5 Platinum. Now that Logos 6 is out, I will purchased Platinum, or higher again. I still own 4 Platinum. I still own 5 Platinum. So why am I excited about new books in Logos 6? Because if you do the math, base packages are the largest discounts offered by Logos. As a conscientious shopper, I have purchased most of my library through base packages and consequently have built a large library with a relatively small investment compared to buying individual resources. I am also extremely excited about the Baptist, Reformed, etc packages because they offer even more books at a huge discount. I don't know if I'll make it to Portfolio 6 before Logos 7 comes out or not, but if so I won't be at all disappointed at new Logos 7 packages as they will only provide me with more opportunities to get more books at huge discounts.

I hope my perspective is encouraging to you.
