I think this is a great, but it has Windows 8.1 this can be changed and install Windows 7 HP 64 bit but you would need to buy the program. http://www.amazon.com/Zenbook-UX303LN-DB71T-Quad-HD-Display-Touchscreen/dp/B00KTL21RA/ref=dp_ob_title_ce
I have also been looking at the MacBook Pro 13"
Thank you for your suggestion will look into it over the next few days
thank you
Not sure what the specific concern with Win 8 is ... I understand some don't care for the metro interface. I would encourage you to take a very close look, though ... personal look, not someone else's opinion.
Win 8.1 (current version) can be set to boot to a standard Win 7 desktop appearance. The metro interface is an optional way to use it but not required. Most computers with Win 8 come that way but can easily reset to the standard desktop. That is how I have mine and I don't have any issues with usability. Same functionality as my Win 7 desktop configuration. I have placed icons on the taskbar and arranged the desktop so that it is identical to my Win 7 desktop. I have no differences ...except ... My Win 8.1 laptop boots twice as fast, if not faster, that my Win 7 desktop with less powerful hardware. It is very stable, running for days, weeks at a time. Win 7 has been very stable for me also.
Setting my Win 8.1 laptop in this way was easy to do, didn't take any extra software (all part of Win 8.1).
I think you would appreciate the performance improvements of the current OS.
Hi everybody
Thank you for your suggestions and pointers
I decided to go with
this one has a three-year warranty and as to graphic cards which one is lower powered to save on battery power
I think it's a good compromise between the hard drives and the SSD storage
I would have thought this would be more than adequate to run logos software and my many other tools speech recognition
Nice.
Michael,
I think you made a good choice and will be very happy with that laptop. It should run Logos 6 very well, and anything else you need. Blessings.
In the days of Logos 4, I wouldn't be surprised if you were experiencing slow. There are a whole bunch of preferences that you can use to turn off things that are getting in your way to complete a given search. You can just run a passage guide instead of the full-scale search. Not knowing what's going on with your machine, makes for a lot of guessing. If you have a browser with 20 tabs open, you might have tied up your memory a lot.
For now, just go through the preferences and turn off stuff you don't need. And open up windows task manager to see if there's a bunch of junk you don't need and are gobbling up resources. Some computers come with a lot of junkware.
Mick, It's a little hard to zero in on what you mean by "slow" and where you are experiencing it. We would need more specific information. Check the following article:
