Trying to listen to the Individual Word in Greek New Testament with Modern Pronunciation:

I am trying to learn Greek with the Modern pronunciation, but when I right click a particular word in the Greek text with the Modern pronunciation on, I hear the dictionary form of the word being pronounced in the Modern. Is there a way to actually hear the particular form that I am clicking on? For example, if I click on "ἀπεκρίθη," I hear the "ἀπoκρίvomai" being read aloud in the Modern prounucitation. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The pronunciation tool only pronounces lemmas, not inflected forms. The reader function will read the whole text to you but I think it is only Erasmian pronunciation.

Nevertheless, if you use the pronunciation tool to help you see how both sounds and accents are pronounced, you would soon not need it anymore. In other words, you should be able to know how to pronounce inflected forms from what you learned from the lemmas.

This post claims that the Read Aloud [Ctrl-R] function is just the Microsoft Window's System Narrator. I've yet to find a Greek resources with the Read Aloud feature enabled (I tried ½ dozen). I also tried it with mixed English/Greek (commentaries) and when it came to the Greek words, it pronounced them as gibberish.

For which Greek (or Hebrew) resources does the Road Aloud function work for you, and how?

Or, were you referring to some other function?

If you have the Greek Audio New Testament, it will read Greek texts to you properly. It works from several Greek NTs, but the version read is always the same (NA27, I think).

Thank you for replying to my request.

When using Logos 6, I am able to listen to the Greek pronunciation, when I right click on the Greek word in the The Greek New Testament SBL Edition. This feature allows me to listen to the Greek word in either the Modern, Konie, or the Erasmian pronunciations. This feature also works in the Lexham Greek-English Interlinear Septuagint and the Greek Alphabet Tutor. However, I got the software because I thought it would read me the exact inflected form of the root word. Nevertheless, it is still a really nice feature.

To listen to the Greek Bible read you need Greek Audio New Testament. To listen to Greek words you'll need: The greek Pronunciation addon:
