As I have limited space on the 128 GB SSD drive (Windows 8.1 and MS Office etc), am I able to move my resource folder to my second hard drive (500GB) which has all sorts of stuff on it?
Can Logos 6 read it there?
Thanks.
In theory, it would work by doing a custom reinstall of the program into a different folder on your second drive (with backing up your resource folder according to one of the quick-install methods in the wiki you could save on redownload and index) - however no one here who has experienced Logos on an SSD would advise you to do so. I'd rather move most of Windows and Office, of possible, or all of Office if necessary instead of Logos.
It's possible but definitely not recommended. Use CCleaner to remove junk from the SSD, including Recycle Bin and Restore Points as these can take up MANY Gigabytes of space. Uninstall programs you don't use. Move graphics, images and movies (many programs allow you to have caches or folders on other drives). Move your Pagefile/swap file to the larger HDD (it is usually the same size as the memory you have installed, and is actually more efficient).
Thanks for these comments guys. I already have videos, music, files etc on the second hard drive. I guess I was concerned about with having about 65% of the SSD taken up so I can probably live with that!
Thanks again.
PS. Where do I find the Pagefile/swap fine Dave and do I just copy it over as is?
Control Panel >> System >> Advanced System Settings ==> System Properties. Click Advanced and then Settings ===> Performance Options. Then click Advanced and Change.. (Virtual Memory). Clear Automatically manage paging file size ..., re-allocate the virtual memory to your large drive and clear it for the SSD (in both cases click Set to confirm your memory setting). Then click OK to get out and restart the computer.
Thank you for that Dave. All done. All good!
