Logos 6 won't start. It crashes apparently while loading the Home Page.
The log is copied below.
Mac version, Mac Book Pro (16 Gb Memory) running Yosemite 10.10.1
No log file was attached. Click the paperclip icon and select the file you want to attach.
Tried to attach the file, Couldn't... so I copied... sorry for the mess
When you say "Couldn't" what happened when you tried? If there's a bug in the forum software preventing people from doing it, we should get that reported to the developers. Or if you're not doing it right, we should help you so that next time you can do it. Could you tell us exactly what steps you took and what the result was when you did them?
Tried using the Logos Logging Utility to generate a zip file but the file it generates won't load to the message after selecting it. Any idea? Where can I get the file needed to post?
The zip file seem to be alright since I can decompress it properly in my Mac. But it won't load.
Again when you say "it won't load" -- what precisely do you mean? Do you get an error message when you try to attach it? Or does nothing happen?
Did you at least get the dialog box that asks you what file you want to attach?
And after you clicked Choose File and selected the zip file from your hard disk, did you see it listed in the dialog box (of course the filename will be different):
You might also want to deleted the Max width and Max height values, since those are meaningless for zip files; they are just for images. And it's possible that those are preventing it from working for you.
If it's all working fine up until that point, then when you click Insert, what happens? Error message, or nothing?
Also it might help us to know what browser you are using. You're on a Mac, so is it Safari?
Thanks for your patience in answering these follow-up questions. I won't be able to help you with the Mac crash issue; someone else will have to work on that, but at least I'm hoping to help you be able to post log files without a problem.
How big is it?
(And please don't paste logs directly into a post. Besides, that looks like an Apple log, not the Logos logs we need.)
Dear Rosie, thank you for you help. I get all the way down to the "Click Insert" and then nothing happens. The file is 4.7 MB. Is there a specific file that needs to be posted so that I may decompress the folder and post the file?
4.7 MB
I decided to watch the Activity Monitor to check the data flow from Safari (Mac browser) and when the correct amount of data had been sent I went back to check the forum and got this message:
Well, then it's not the size. Could you try on another browser?
That's strange. Most of the time when that message comes up, the post goes through anyway.
I got one of my earlier logs posted, finally...

You're running 6.0 SR-1, which is several versions out of date. (This is probably due to entering the command "set update channel to predeterminado", which is not supported; use "stable" or "default".)
Try installing the latest version of the application using the download link from your order history. You may also be able to avoid the crash by holding down the Cmd key at startup, which will open to a blank layout (and then may let you enter the "set update channel" command.)
Thank you. I'll try to install by downloading...
Thank you, it's working. However, I have a couple of questions:
You stated that:
This is probably due to entering the command "set update channel to predeterminado", which is not supported; use "stable" or "default".)
but this was the default setting, since I was running the app with the Spanish interface. Is the Spanish support not complete? Should I run Logos6 in English?
After downloading the current version, I checked the update channel setting while running Logos6 in Spanish and it still was "predeterminado". I then changed the language to English and set the update channel to "stable". Then I changed back to Spanish, and checked the update channel setting, and it indicated that the update channel was set to "stable", but using both languages, i.e., it reads: "Canal de actualización: stable" rather than "estable" (in Spanish). I did not try to change that update channel using the Spanish commands though since I'm not sure what those commands are.
