Special Sale Idea

Obviously, the resources in our packages were greatly discounted, and we don't know how much. But Faithlife does. How about this for a special sale idea? If there are some sets in our packages that we will never use, and there always are, how about Logos allow us to trade them for 20% of the value they charged us towards new purchases only?

Logos makes a lot of new sales, and we something for material that we would never use anyway.

It sounds nice, but Logos 6 base packages are so heavily discounted that you'd get pennies on the dollar in discounts, and Faithlife would have a bureaucratic nightmare, even if this were possible.

Also, Faithlife is not helped as a company by the popularization of the (accurate) notion that many books its customers buy they will barely use if ever use.

Also, Logos packages are not dividable. That is, if you have a set that is in a larger package you bought, the licensing cannot be split up such that you still own the rest of the base package without that set, say a commentary set that you'll never use. That's how they are able to negotiate offering such ridiculously low prices on these things when included as part of a base package. If they allowed people to split up their base packages, and sell bits of it that they aren't going to use, or trade back parts of it for credit on something else, they'd never be able to recoup their cost for the contents of the base packages.

Great explanation, Rosie. Pennies on the dollar would be fine for something one is not going to ever use. However, I did not take into account license issues.
