I just got a Dell Latitude E6500 32bit, 4 meg, 250 Gig, 2.54 , 256 video. L4 is my main program, sometimes it take a little while to load and might say "not responding". Would i see any great difference running 64bit vs 32bit?
Tell us where you are starting from.
My e6400 laptop has is a 32bit machine but dell also sent win7 64bit CD.
The 64 bit will allow you to use approximately .5 GB more of that 4 GB of Ram. Some people have claimed an inherent speed advantage to the 64 bit OS, but I haven't run the tests myself so I don't know (I was voted most likely to be the Apostle Thomas). I personally run it because it is where everything is going, but you might find problem getting drivers for older printers and such. Bottom line is you will probably see a marginal speed improvement.
Ok Apostle [:)], "at least he spoke up" [:D]. i checked for drivers that would affect me and i'm ok. But i guess any improvement is still good. Don't want to go through all the hassle of upgrading only to see nothing.
Thanks for the insight Terry.
