Every Day Bible & groups not ready for primetime!

I've challenged our congregation to get involved in a daily Bible reading program this year using the Every Day Bible. Sadly we have had many problems with it. People have had to try numerous times to connect to our Church group before succeeding. I was told by one person - "I had to keep trying  to connect over and over and eventually I succeeded". For some people our group doesn't even show up even though they enter our church's name in the search bar. I wrote some notes and posted them to the group but they have disappeared. It seems like the Every Day Bible with groups was released but was not fully tested. Not only does that reflect negatively on FaithLife but also on me, because I  promoted something that is glitchy and not working right. Truthfully I expect better from Faith Life.

I’m sorry to hear that MWW. Could you please direct me to your church group? I’d like to take a look at it for you. If you don’t wish to post the link to the forums, you can message me on Faithlife, or email me at ryan.nelson@faithlife.com.

Some individuals would like to have the reading guide schedule.  I have tried to access it and haven't been able to have success.  Any help here?  I followed the steps outlined to go to the link and click "get copy."  It doesn't produce anything.

Pastor Dennis, could you include a link to the steps you're referencing here? If you can provide some context, I'd love to try to help.

    MWW,

Thank you very much for reporting this, and I'm sorry for your difficulties.

To get a little bit more information we can use to work on your issue, are your church group members experiencing failure trying to join your Faithlife group?  Or are they already members of your Faithlife group, experiencing failure while attempting to start using the EveryDayBible reading plan with said group?

Ryan Nelson has been on this for us. The problem seems to be with iPhone users just when starting to use the reading plan with our group.

I however am still trying to figure what happened to the notes/comments I posted that seemed to have disappeared. There also doesn't seem to be a way to add notes anymore.

The initial email that Faithlife sent out said that a comment section was included in the app (See below). Where is that section? How do you access it?

Best of all, Every Day Bible makes it easy to read the Bible with people you care about. Just sign in with your Faithlife account, create or join a group, and invite your friends, family, small group, or church to read along with you. A response section is available at the end of each reading, so you can share your findings with your reading group and community.

It's possible that message was referring to our website view, everydaybible.com, which has a comments section below the readings.

Err, on the Every Day Bible for Android app there used to be a place at the bottom to post comments. The wording above makes it sound different than how it was implemented.

A response section is available at the end of each reading

There is one thread for the entire reading plan and not a separate response for each reading which I would have preferred.

However, the section is now gone:

Below is the email's wording that implies that the Every Day Bible app had a place for group comments. When I first started using the app that place for comments was there. Now a place for comments is no longer there, neither are the comments that I made.

2015 is almost here—it’s time to reflect on the things we’ve done this past year, and the things we want to accomplish in the new year.

How about getting closer to the Bible?

    Every Day Bible

The new Every Day Bible app is the easiest and most convenient way to connect with God’s Word—simply follow along with the pregenerated reading plan starting January 1, and by the end of the year, you’ll have made it through the entire Bible.

Don’t worry if you get behind in the reading plan, or want to speed up. You can navigate to past and future readings to find a pace that’s right for you. You can even set a reminder to help you stay up-to-date on your reading plan.

I have struggled with being able to check off that I have completed the day's readings, some days there is a box, some days there is not. I have had to use my Logos software on a computer to keep it checked. It may be ignorance on my part to how to check off each day. If that is the case, please inform me of the best way to use the app to complete this task.

    Thanks

Adam, are you connected to a group? if you are connected to one, the box should appear each day. Are you experiencing this issue with an iOS or Android device?

Keep using Logos for a while, and your expectations will go down to meet reality. [6]

I thought I was still connected to a group, but on my iPhone, it was not and once I joined the group, it showed that I had completed it. I am not sure if my iPad Air is connected or not now.

    Thanks for the help.

To clarify, you're saying that the group is getting un-set? How often does this happen -- each day?
