Attn: Logos — Literary Typing tagging issue

Hi Sean or Douglas Mangum (or whoever is responsible for Literary Typing),

It's become apparent there's a problem with the Quotation Literary Type. The glossary lists two quotation types:

  • Quotation — (NT) A passage quoting another text, usually the Old Testament.
  • Quotation, Old Testament — (NT) A passage quoting from an Old Testament text.

There's clearly insufficient difference between these two types to be meaningful. As a consequence, many OT citations in the NT are labelled with "Quotation, Old Testament", and many with simply "Quotation". (For the former see Matthew 1-2. For the latter see Acts 2.) This needs rationalising, as otherwise a very useful feature is hamstrung.

    Yes, there are a number of issues with this data, which dates back to the Libronix era (if not earlier). Ideally, we'd like to revise this data thoroughly to add more consistency across the testaments (and address other issues). It's on our development list, but quite a ways down, so I don't know when we'll get to it.
