Proclaim won't start

I tried starting Proclaim tonight and it won't start. Not getting an error message, just spinning circle for a moment, and then nothing. No difference if I try to right click and run as administrator. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling. When I do that, it shows setup running, and the progress bar gets about 50% across, then disappears without an error message. The program icon is there, so I try launching, but nothing happens. I've also held the control key down to see if that would help, but it doesn't. Running Windows 7. Would appreciate any suggestions on how to repair this so it will launch.

The proclaim.log file is timestamped from 1/4/15, so it isn't even showing a log file from me trying to start it today. I've pulled up task manager and then launched the program, and it shows in the task list for about 5 seconds and then goes away.

Could you try uninstalling again, deleting the Proclaim user data directory (C:\Users\<Your username>\AppData\Local\Proclaim), and reinstalling?

When you're looking in Task Manager make sure there are no Proclaim.exe processes before trying to restart. It's a long shot but if for some reason one is hanging int the background starting a new process will terminate immediately.

Are you running any anti-virus software? You could try temporarily disabling it and try starting Proclaim.

Finally I would try using Control Panel to uninstall Proclaim and the Proclaim Prerequisites. This will not remove any of your local data, just the application itself. Once uninstalled please try reinstalling from proclaimonline.com

If all this fails you could poke around in the Windows Event Viewer and see if there are any messages from Windows when you try to start the application.

I uninstalled Proclaim and Proclaim Prerequisites, and also deleted the user data directory. I reinstalled, but no change. Found the following in the Windows event viewer:

I reinstalled the .Net 4.5.1 framework about 30 minutes ago in an attempt to see if that would fix this.

I've upgraded .Net from 4.5.1 to 4.5.2, then again uninstalled Proclaim and the user data directory, reinstalled, and still showing the same errors in the Windows event log

Hmmm. I'd like to see the Proclaim.exe.config file from your installation. If you could attach it to this thread that would be great. It should be located here C:\Users\todd.dolbeer\AppData\Local\Proclaim\System\Proclaim.exe.config

Another possibility is your installation of the .NET framework has somehow been corrupted. Please run the NetFxRepairTool located here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=30135

If that doesn't work please uninstall the .NET framework and Proclaim (again), then reinstall (Proclaim will prompt you for the .NET Framework reinstall).

Success!

The repair tool didn't fix it, but the uninstall of .Net and Proclaim and then reinstall of Proclaim did fix it. I appreciate all of the help to get through this!
