I saw this new film last night and enjoyed it. Very few attended the screening but I was glad I did.
It primarily seemed to suggest (to me anyway) that Egyptians need to consider moving their historical timeline forward (afterall it impacts other timelines that have to leave a gap in them for accommodation now anyway!) then things line up in The Bible (which of course is true!).
I think it also suggested that historically too much is made of the wrong Pharaoh in a later time period as well.
What amazed me is how many Jews do not think The Exodus ever occurred and how many Egyptologists and Historians are stuck in what seems to be wrong thinking and/or dating. I am skeptical of revisionists at times...but this film made sense and was presented fairly.
(I had to chuckle that one panelist on the filmed-panel-aftershow kept pushing his new unrelated book.)
The film itself is great but needed a better summation.
A friend who went with me said they skipped over the location of the parting of the Red Sea and muted that whole section. That was disappointing.
During the films brief intermission the screen flashed - At what point in the film did you say "Wow".
I enjoyed it but can honestly say there were not that many "wow" moments for me personally....a lot to ponder though. They need to have the showings earlier.
Now as this is a Logos forum (aha...those of you scratching your heads...this is for you)
How would you use Logos, its timeline features, and some books to show that its quite possible Egyption historians have their timeline wrong?
I sit back and - respectfully - wait for your replies.
Please list your logos search strings and charts here....and be respectful of one another.
I am glad The Bible itself and even this film can be used to show its veracity.
Archaeology buffs and history buffs weigh in please.
Does the timeline need to be changed for The Exodus?
How does Logos 6.0 and its resources (specifically) address this issue?
