[Edit: That was supposed to be a short video of the little boxes scrolling endlessly...]
It takes a long time. More than five seconds. I just tried it with The New Testament and the People of God, which is a long book, and I had to go off and do other things while it finished, so I'm not sure how long it took, but it was at least 30 seconds, and perhaps more than a minute. Just be patient.
It takes a long time.
20 minutes? (and counting)
[Edit: Maybe filming it makes it behave. At the end of my clip, and this is about 20 minutes after I 'sent' it, it suddenly was 'sent'.]
Or perhaps it is more afraid of Rosie than of me!
Heh, heh! It's that classic behavior of bugs that disappear as soon as you try to tell someone about them.
Glad it finally went through, but that sure does seem excessively slow.
Ahem! Faithlife, are you gonna do something about this?
This is one of the FL things I'm not going to fuss about. I'm so glad to have S2K after asking for it for several years, I'll put up with slow (as long as it finally goes through).
I do wonder, if you click 'send', and them move on to other tasks, if it will continue to send in the background, or do you have to stay on the book/page for it to work?
When I said "other things" I actually meant other things on my computer besides Logos. Yes, there are other things on my computer besides Logos. [:)]
But yes, Logos is a multi-threaded app, so it will keep working on S2K in the background while you do something else, though it will take longer for it to complete because the thread which is working on that task has to share CPU time with other threads. If you've got a quad-core machine, one core might be entirely dedicated to that thread, but there are likely tons of threads going on at any given time on your computer, in the multiple apps and drivers that are running, and each one of them is vying for a slice of CPU time, and they have to take turns in sequence.
If I remember correctly, the "sending" is a misnomer. It isn't sending from your computer, you are making a request. I think the spinning is just waiting for a response. Did you check your device to see if it had been delivered, or did you just wait for confirmation?
That's a good point. One of the other things I did was download updates that were waiting for me in Logos, which caused Logos to restart, so I might not have even waited until the end of the spinning. But when I checked my device, the book had been delivered, and the spinning bars were gone when Logos restarted (obviously).
Did you check your device to see if it had been delivered, or did you just wait for confirmation?
Both. It was delivered.

Fairly quickly? I think you can just ignore the continuation of the spinny wheel once the book has been delivered.
Clicking the "send" link initiates a transfer between our servers and Amazon. You don't need to keep the panel open, or the app running, or even leave your computer on [:)] after clicking the link.

Then what is the point of the "spinning" bars saying something is still happening?

to drive you crazy, Rosie, to drive you crazy. [:P]
to drive you crazy, Rosie, to drive you crazy.
I must be channeling Rosie, 'cause it bugs me, too.
Knowing it has executed (thanks for that confirmation, Brad) removes most of the irk...I can move on and do something else.
For those still wondering where your book is, remember that you might have to log in to Amazon.com and click 'Deliver' to get your book sent.
You two aren't the only ones. There have been a couple of threads about it.
