Jewish style formatting

It's common in Jewish Tanakhs and Chumashim to respect the Biblical text by not putting one's personal thoughts/ideas, headings, even verse numbers within the Biblical text, but rather around it, usually on the sides or the bottom of the page. The British Bible teacher David Pawson talks a lot about how important it is to read the Bible realising that the verses were not put in there by the Biblical authors themselves, but as a helpful lookup tool, but when people see verse numbers they often will selectively read a verse or two without reading the context before and after. And so many bad doctrines have resulted by thinking there is something final of just one verse, but you don't get that impression when they're on the side, yet you can still instantly look up passages. So here's a modified version of the logos layout I made up in a paint.net which does exactly that. It's not for everyone, but some may really like being able to look down the side and find verse references very quickly without it being added to the Biblical text. I apologise that I wasn't able to justify the text, but it gives you an idea for a possible layout. Just thought I'd share it with you. Speaking for myself, I would definitely use a layout like this. I've tried the 'Bible text only' feature, but my eyes find it taxing jumping from the empty spaces after every verse. I'd prefer it if they were continuous, at least most of the time. Anyway. Just throwing out an idea for people to ponder on.

You can get most of this in Logos 6 using different options in the "Bible text only" visual filter
If you also enable "Non-Bible text" you get section headings but they are "inline" as opposed to around the text

That looks quite nice. I'm saving up for a feature crossgrade, so I'll definitely remember this when I'm in a position to do that.
Thanks for the reply!0 -

I think the feature crossgrade is well worth getting but this particular feature should be available in the free engine which is due to be made available in February - so hopefully you will be able to see it then if not before.

Sounds awesome. Just curious what happens if you un-tick one verse per line. Can you have multiple verses in one line? Personally, I'd really like that. Thanks!

You get something like

Yes but, as you see, the verse numbers are then in-line

So I just downloaded Logos 6. This is what I'm going to be using the most:
Now if only you could have flowing text without new lines per verse, but with reference verse numbers on the side for quick look-up.
Thank you for your reply before though. I appreciate it.

Clicking on a word shows reference location so verse numbers are not needed on screen. Right click on word also has verse reference plus context menu.

What is that—spumoni?
Spumoni can have a bit more color for visual filter highlighting of Logos Greek Morphology and selected Louw-Nida tagging:
Matthew 6:9-13 has seven imperative verbs. Heaven is in the dative case. Thankful can choose which visual filter(s) are active at one time. With verbal moods and tenses highlighted in English and Greek, can "see" range of Greek verbal expression:
Thankful for interlinear tagging that can be highlighted. Also Thankful for Logos 6 option to show Bible Text without Chapter and Verse numbers.
