[resolved]BUG: NIDBAB doesn't appear in search results

Hey there, some month ago I added "The New Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible, Vol. 1-5". Altough I prioritized this resource, it doesn't appear in my search results. I think there's an error in tagging the dictionary. My Logos version is 6.0b SR-2 6.0.2.007.

In December last year, I already posted this problem in the german subgroup: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/97551.aspx

Anyone out there to give me a good advice? Thanx!

Can you provide a few more details please?

You refer to "search results" - prioritizing doesn't affect this.

But in the December post I believe - but don't speak German - that the issue was with the various Guides.

Please give an example - ideally with screenshots (https://wiki.logos.com/Screenshot) - of what you are doing and what isn't working

Thank you for your fast answer. The NIDBAB does'nt appear in any search type: neither factbook, nor in "search results" or others. I know that prioritizing doesn't affect the search option. But also in searches where prioritizing should affect, there is no NIDBAB result. See sreenshot below. You see the factbook results for Sidon. Sidon is a Lemma in NIDBAB, but doesn't appear in "Wörterbücher" (Wörterbücher is a bad translation for "Dictionary", it means "Wordbook", but that's an other theme... [:)] ).

I believe you are running into a previously noted problem of the tagging within the book. I don't own the resource to check but run the same request as a plain Sidon - without the city. This will cause a plain text search rather than a tag search and will prove or disprove my theory.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

See sreenshot below. You see the factbook results for Sidon.

It suggests that NIDBAB is not tagged by Faithlife for Topics; which may mean they haven't got around to doing it as yet! But it still can be used a a lookup e.g. put it in a collection of encyclopedias and use it in the Collections section of Topic Guide, or use the Parallel Resource menu to switch to the topic from another encyclopedia.

Ok, thank you Dave. I tried it with the use in the collections of Topic Guide and there it works.

It suggests that NIDBAB is not tagged by Faithlife for Topics

So it seems you're right with your assumption...

This unfortunately is a very serious problem. Faithlife touts that the resources they sell are extra valuable because of the tagging. Yet a resource released less than a year ago is not tagged. Not to mention one of their top resources that has been around for over a decade is not tagged, the Anchor Bible Dictionary. One place we were told by a FL person that both these resources are on the list to be tagged. With the ADB one might say it's understandable that this type of tagging was not around when it was released but you cannot tell me that NIDB when it was being worked on they were not cognizant of the need for this tagging.

We made the decision to begin tagging all new encyclopedias for Factbook optimization in late July of 2015. Unfortunately, NIDBAB was produced before we made that call. There are many contributing factors as to why we made the call then. But that is when it was made. Perhaps we should have made the decision earlier but that is when it was made.

NIDBAB is on the list for an update but at this point I don't have an ETA.

As far as Anchor goes, I'm a bit confused or perhaps I'm misunderstanding the issue. The Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary is tagged for topics and appears in Factbook.

I was told something about AYBD needed updated tagging too... my Apologies for being mistaken.

YEAH! Today Logos provided an updated version of the NIDBAB and what a surprise: It appears in search results like factbook! Thanx to Bellingham.
