Word Studies

Hi,

I'm a student at a Christian University, so I use Logos for a lot of my Bible classes. One class that I'm taking right now is called the Epistles of Peter and John. A lot of my assignments include word studies. I recently called Logos support line but couldn't get an answer. For some reason, every time I try to do a word study there are no results in anything for the words that I choose. Logos will not even tell me how many times the word has been used throughout the Bible. I only have the starter pack so my resources are limited. Any advice or information on how to fix this problem?

Do you mean a "Bible Word Study" or something else? Can you give some specific examples? For example, are you trying to do this in English or in the original languages?

In the example below I am choosing the word "disciples" from John 3:22 and have right-clicked on its lemma to get the context menu

The next screenshot is what I get if I choose "Bible Word Study" - and I have clicked on the larger blue arc to show where that Greek word is translated as "disciple"

In the next screenshot I choose "search this resource"

You will get similar results if you go with the English word instead.

Is this the sort of thing you are trying to do? What issues are you having?

Hello,

Thank you for your response. Yes, I did mean Bible word study and I do them in the original language because that it was my professor recommends for assignments. I use to do Bible Word studies all the time and they always worked. However, recently I tried to do one for an assignment. I found the word I wanted to use, right clicked, scrolled to Lemma, clicked again and went to Bible Word Study. However, there were no results or anything. Since then there have been no results for and of the Bible word studies that I do.

Do regular searches work like in my third screenshot above?

Interestingly you say you have the Logos 5 starter package, I thought L5 needed Bronze or higher for BWS to work at all.
