Inductive Bible Study Template for Word.
Hey Guys and Gals:
I have been using an Inductive Bible Study Template in Word for many years now and it is the best and most useful I have ever seen! I reccomend it highly. You can check it out @ http://www.addanet.ca/ibs/ I have nothing to do with the template I am just sharing with my friends!

sounds real good but is there infomation to explain to a thick headed bible loving stuying person just what it is and how i can use it in my precept inductive studies or if i can even use it in precept?

Is this an app that must be purchased? On the site I see a purchase page but I also see a downloads page as well. Must it be purchased first?

It is a one time purchase of $10. It then loads into Word as a template that works with all 66 books of the Bible allowing you to record your observations, outlines, word definitions, etc. It breaks each book, and section of each book into seperate pages (but one doc). It is customizable so you can grow or shrink the pages as needed. I will try and post a picture

Yes, I had no problem. I got the email with the download link within 12 hours. His use of Microsoft Office is fascinating. I would not have known you could do everything he's accomplished.

I just tried it. Click on the Products menu, then click on the Buy Now button. I have received my PayPal receipt, but have yet to receive his personal email giving me the download instructions. But I'll let you know if that comes through OK. I expect it will, if MJ was successful.
The PayPal confirmation email gave me a different contact email address for the seller, BTW, in case you wanted to email him first before buying: [removed by request].

For those that have an Interest in the Inductive Bible Study Charting Wizard for MS Word let me give you a bit of the history and some understanding as to what it is for.
Youth With a Mission (ywam) runs a lot of training schools a couple of these course teach the Inductive Bible Study method and use charting as one of the tools. The charts help represent how much of the text the author of the book is devoting different subject or topics and it give you a good visual of a book. There are two basic type of charts. The Horizontal which is whole book overview and the vertical which focuses on the different sections or segment which YOU have defined when selecting where you think the sections breaks should go.
In 1999 I did the School of Biblical Studies Core Course which is now called the Biblical Core Course in Kyiv, Ukraine. The first chart I ever did was generated by my computer in MS Word and the original program actually scanned the Logos Bible text that had been imported into Word. When the rest of the students saw my chart they all wanted the program.
The new version of the program runs faster as all the books were pre-scanned for their breaks. The paragraph breaks are based on the New Revised Standard Version NRSV which was the standard when I did my school.
I’ll attaché an example chart to this post so you can get an idea of the result. The charts simply have the chapter-verse reverences and paragraph titles (if you have entered them) and then you can fill in your own observations etc.
The program costs $10.00 usd and you can pay via paypal with a credit card.
I’m still a full time missionary with Youth With A Mission in the UK. I don’t receive a salary and I have to raise all my own support so this is just one of the little things that helps me keep serving the kingdom.

Hi UncleBob,
Yes it does work with MS Word 2010 (of PC). I've tested on Windows 7 (64bit) with Office 2010 (32 bit). Microsoft actually recomends that you install Office 32 bit even on 64 bit system unless you actually have a need to access huge spreadsheets or access dbs.
Some things that will help with the install (more windows vista / 7 related). When you download the package make sure you right click and "Unblock" it.
Next right click on the install package and choose "run as administrator".When MS Word 2010 starts you should see a orange warning bar asking you if you want to enable the content - click "Enable" and the program will fire right up.
On older versions you need to change the macro security settings from High to Medium in order for Word to prompt and ask to run the macro.
I haven't tested it with the 64 bit editions of Office / Word, but the program has worked correctly with all versions of Word since version 2 I believe.
It's more the extra security measures in Vista and 7 that have caused problems.

Has anyone else had any computer problems since downloading this file. It is a word document with executable macros. My desktop computer was causing me problems. It went to a blue screen and said the windows had shut down to protect it. This happened a few times and I restarted it normally. It said there was a kernal_stack_Inpage_error. I had restarted it normally a few times. Last night I opted for windows to fix the problem. However, I think it wiped most things off it because it is scanned the hard drive and is displayed multiple lines of "File Segment ######### is unreadable." Has anyone encountered this before?

Hi Michael,
File Sgement errors are likely caused by a failing harddrive - not the IBS Software. Also sometime an unclean stutdwon can cause problems but in my expierience if you see a lot of File Segment / sector error then it's almost always a failing harddrive.
Microsoft had a hd check utility right click on the drive in windows explorer, click the tools tab and check hard drive. This will usually run when you next restart your computer. The resuts of this check will be in your event log after your computer has restarted. Check this carefully.
If your harddrive have SMART there are some utilities that will check this info and give you and idea of the health of your hard drive. We use something like this in our IT office - I just forget what it's called.
