Most times I might not want to make all the steps it takes to capture my information and thoughts into a full personal book just to make it searchable.
Shouldn't notes be searchable as well?

They already are.
Negative. They are not searchable from the home screen prompt.
The technical desk (albeit 1st tier) could not find they are searchable until you use the "passage guide". I've tried the passage guide to do just and it does work but since it's the "passage guide" it is limited to search by scriptural reference instead of topic. If you don't have a clear scripture referenced...then how would the passage guide work searching your notes?
The topic guide doesn't even allow for searching PBB much less your personal notes. This should be an upgrade comment...Topic guide and main search should include both PBB and personal notes.

Positive. See below
So you have to drill down into the Search "all your documents" and not include the library from your screenshot.
Do you have a screen shot from the main screen? I'm failing to see where you're answering my direct and specific questions. The intent is to search WITH the library and from the beginning. That is the spirit of the question. Do you understand why I ask?

No. What's the problem with doing a legitimate search?
No because I never start a search from the home page.
Start at the magnifying glass and your problems will disappear.

Using the Search tab is the normal way of doing a search in Logos. It doesn't feel like "drilling down" for most users, because we don't hang out on the Home page. I only open the Home page when I want to do something specific there. Most of my time I spent int the normal layout where I usually have a search tab open at all times.
1. Click the Search icon (magnifying glass) to open a Search tab.
2. Type in your search word or phrase and hit Enter.
What you're asking is perhaps whether it's possible to search Notes from the "Go" box on the Home page where it looks like you're doing your searches from instead of from a Search tab. The "Go" box on the Home page is designed as a quickie search to open a variety of guides and resources to help you dig into passages or topics. It is not designed to be a comprehensive search of your library. That's what the Search tab is for, so that's where you'll want to search if you want to find things in your Notes.
And yes, the search hits that are in your user-created documents are separated out (under "Your Documents") from the search hits in your library resources. Either search in Everything or specifically in Your Documents to find stuff in your Notes:

Rosie, very helpful answer. I do notice that while the search result will tell me how many hits it finds in a note file, it will only go to the first hit when you click on it and it seem like I'm on my own to ferret out the others. Is there another way?
A related question: How do I search for tags I've added to notes? Once I noticed the tags feature, I added a few, but now I don't know how to make use of tags or labels on notes.
mytag:valurOfTag
use the prefix mytag: no space and the value of you tag, in quotations if it includes a space.
