Using Logos Library in a more visual way

I am used to thinking about my non-digital books by their spines and location on my bookshelves. I would like to try something similar for my Logos books and start to group them by their spines (or covers). When I have loaded my library, I can click the "Cover View" icon to view by covers, but then I seem to only be able to sort by "Recent", "Most Used", "Title" and "Author". Sorting by title and author is something I would rather do in detailed view, and "recent" and "most used" categories are vaguely interesting, but don't help me visually.

I'd like to drag my books around in the library, and store the commentaries in a "commentaries" section and dictionaries in a "dictionaries" section. Indeed, it's possible for me to tag books or to use their types to view them in detailed view, but I can't seem to access this in "Cover View". Am I missing something?

another alternative if you are using Windows:

you can use LLR program to create a webpage locally on your hard-drive which shows your bookcovers ordered by Logos Type (see my bookcovers copied to my website)

I would like to be able to do that too.

I don't think you're missing something. Cover view sorting is lame compared to sorting in Detail view, and there is no grouping like in Detail view.

Being able to drag books around and have this view remember their relative order would be great. I'm not sure how they'd deal with new books showing up in your library after you'd reordered them the way you like them. But I'm sure that's solvable.

Darn. Do you know if anybody has suggested improvements to Cover View? At minimum, it would be good to view by type and by tag. A much improved feature would be to view by all of the same column headings as it's possible to see in "detail view".

You just did in this thread. I don't know of any other threads or UserVoice suggestions for improvements to Cover View. I didn't spent a lot of time searching, but you might be the first to make a substantial (and good) suggestion. You might want to post it to UserVoice too, so that it can get votes (and then post the link for us here to drum up votes).

Well, I'm pretty quirky with the way I like my books sorted on my physical shelves at home, and it couldn't really be automated. I wouldn't want to have to create numbered tags like "1234567" and "1234568" to ensure that every book appears on the visual shelf in the order I want it to. I do have a series of "Shelf" tags (e.g., "Shelf: Biography" and so on) which ensures that I can sort my library in a kind of way that matches my physical library. I only ever assign one "Shelf" tag to a book, so all my books go in a unique place. But on my physical shelves, some of them I like to have sorted by author's last name, some of them I sort chronologically (but not by the publication date of the edition I have, rather by the original author's writing date or lifespan date), and some of them I group into subgroups (e.g., under Church History on my shelves at home, I have a special subsection for Mennonite history). I'd love to be able to replicate that kind of visual organization in Logos. Not holding my breath, though.

Not on a Mac which doesn't have a Window's Virtual Machine.

But if you email me (an email can be found on my the bottom right side of my website) i can work with you on getting the file needed to generate the bookcover report and zip it and send it to you.
