Logos Android vs iOS

My iphone 4S has a problem, so I am thinking about replacing it. Maybe with an Android device!

My main question is, does the Logos Bible app for Android have the same functionality as the iOS app, or does its development lag someway behind?

The secondary question is, what Android phones do people use for Logos - what do I need for it to operate in a responsive (not slow) manner?!

Any help much appreciated.

Historically, the Android app lagged behind the iOS one but I think they are fairly close now.

There are still some fine controls in the iOS app which are not currently available on Android (you can control which notes files are enabled as opposed to a general toggle) and you can determine which rows in Interlinear resources are displayed on iOS which you can't on Android.

However, there is an option to report typos on Android and there isn't on iOS.

So there are some edge conditions either way but the core functionality, in my opinion, is fairly similar.

This is a wide open question because we don't know how you use your cell. The larger displays (iPhone 6+, Samsung Note 4, Nexxus 6) would be helpful for many readers. Also some carriers are offering a free tablet with the purchase of a smartphone.

As somebody who currently works in the cellphone market, I will refrain from advertising our current deals.

Well I have not used android but I recently remember reading in the forums about a user who switch from iPhone to android and was complaining about the responsiveness of the android APP (this could have been due to a slow device but the user found it unacceptable).

It's mainly a question about how the Logos Bible app performs on different Android phones.

I don't want a "plus" or phablet device - too bulky! I have an iPad mini when I want to use a tablet. I am really happy with the size of the screen and phone with the iPhone 4 - but wonder whether I can justify £549 for a new iPhone5S and if an "equivalent" Android would be cheaper and as good!

I currently use a Note 2 and am typing this post with it. I enjoy the larger screen and have not had any issues with app responsiveness. I do wish the Android app would let me pick which lines are displayed for interlinears. As it is, the app displays EVERYTHING - every single line the interlinear has to offer. Even on a larger phone that is just not practical and is annoying because it makes it very hard to read. Please fix this Faithlife...please...

I have iPad Air 1, Android HP Touchpad and Note 4.

I think for reading, of course, the bigger the screen the better.

In terms quality wise, the iOS is better because they have high resolution on book covers under library and it has option to view the library in book cover style. But when viewing the Notes you have, Android's view of all your notes/documents is better, because Android shows the whole title of your notes, unlike iOS that only shows half the page. (scrolling finding my notes is cumbersome in iOS)

But in your case, going from iPhone 4 to iPhone 5s wouldn't make much difference at all. Zero.

I currently use an LG G Flex and have no trouble with the Bible app. Plenty of real estate for me with the 6” display.

I use a Moto G (2013) with service from Republic Wireless ($10 + $2 taxes = $12 a month), what a great price. With all the money I save on cell service I can afford to buy more Logos books.
My Wife and oldest son also have the same. The Moto G with 16 gig is $200 with delivery.
Logos runs nice and fast on it, and the display is sharp and clear. I also have a Google Nexus 7 for when I do regular reading.
