How important is the Bible to me?

Would it be one of the few things I would have left in a disaster? I know I have spent a lot of money on it.
From the story: Man found alive after 66 days at sea had already been mourned by friends http://a.msn.com/01/en-us/AAapvMn
"In the helicopter, Jordan pulled out two of the things that he said had kept him going: the Bible, battered and jacket-less, and a blanket that had shielded him from the sun."

That's quite the story. The article said that "he read the Bible repeatedly from cover to cover" while at sea for 66 days. How many times could one read through the Bible in that time frame? What an incredible source of hope for him!

A friend, a Buddhist turned Christian, read it through in one week when she first discovered it. Then she rad it 2X more over the next 6 months if I remember correctly. Soon after she read it aloud over the phone to her mother over the course of a year. She and her mother and several family members now believe Jesus.

Inspiring stories. Thank you everyone. [Y]
Don't think I can make it in a disaster situation with a Logos bible study program though! [:(]
