An Open Plea from a Paranoid Conspiracist

I love Logos, but (updates excluded) am getting overly concerned about its increasing reliance on a internet connection for its operation (Not just thinking of "Logos Now"), but especially with the current climate of paranoia by certain alphabet soup agencies of monitoring and analysing all traffic, and the older I get I am more concerned about the future of my nation (non-US) and the (currently remote) possibility of Christianity being outlawed and us being persecuted in the near future
I acknowledge my paranoia.. I am already starting to encypt and encode any data including files that I store on the web, and I may be extreme in my views, (I hope I am wrong) and Yes it might not happen in our lifetime.. but what if it does.?
What if the servers are shut down/blocked so we presumably have no way of reinstalling licences, when we are forced to reinstall we are unable to do so offline.. so we are dead in the water.. . My understanding is if no access to server unable to get licence key so no access to library after reinstall
Whilst I still have kept my Libronix stuff (Just in case) its kind of dead in water, and already realistically needs a VM to run in (slowly), my plea is please consider releasing (albeit a hamstrung version from your perspective) a version that doesn't require any Internet usage, yes I accept certain databases and "premium" features will be unavailable but at least we could resurrect our library from a backup if that day should arise where using internet to activate is not possible or would have serious health side effects..
Please consider a NON INTERNET version, I accept there may not be much demand (yet), but all I ask is that you don't discount me as a "loony toon" LOL

Has something changed that hasn't already needed an internet connection? I'm confused as to your concern.

Also there is the case of those working in the rural areas of Africa of so. The Internet connection may be slow and frequently not working.
Or, how about a pivate boat in the middle of the ocean?

I think Dominic's concern is if something happens to his computer or he needs a new computer, he is not able to re-install Logos without internet connection for license verification and thus won't be able to use Logos.
While I'm not a paranoid conspiracist, just paranoid [:D], I also think it would be a good idea to have a non-internet version for re-installation purposes. Something similar to Libronix version of a license file?

i have good friends who are missionaries in Papua New Guinea eith expensive limited internet access. They use the logos program offline without updates and sync files only very intermittently. It works very well.
id love logos to maintain thought for this situation and closed country issues as they develop. Don't abandon offline use. Yet, to those who are worried, offline use is currently very well supported

Logos is currently available for off-line use and I see Faithlife continuing to support this into the future.
Using adventure and community to challenge young people to continually say "yes" to God

I appreciate that once initially synced Logos can run off line, but that initial sync could get you arrested and imprisoned in certain countries

You can install offline using Method 1 as detailed on this wiki page https://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers#Method_3

Thank you Fredc. I did not know you could install on offline computer. Good to know. Slightly less paranoid now

A concern of mine is the day Logos needs the net to run. Already if you want to use Logos 6 atlas or visual copy you need to be online.

You're right, there are some features that require an internet connection. I am not as concerned about the tools and features that currently require the internet as I am about future tools and features. More and more seems to be moving to that model. Fortunately those tools and features I use in my normal workflow are available offline. I would anticipate, based on what Bob and other Faithlife folks have said, that those tools and features will be available in the foreseeable future.
