Web App
I'm sitting in a coffee shop and feeling slightly delirious - web app!! WEB APP!!!
I've given up hauling my old laptop around, but I've been frustrated with the remote connection from my Chromebook. And when the potential of buying an ultrabook was decimated by the need to replace my roof, I was unsure what the next plan was.
So when I stumbled across this new board, and the found the Web App access, I jumped right in. So, two questions:
1) Will Web App access be exclusive to Logos Now users?
2) Do we have an ETA on when the various Tools, Guides, and layouts will be implemented?
This just made my day.

Yes - see https://www.logos.com/product/50138/logos-now
Jonathan Griffiths said:2) Do we have an ETA on when the various Tools, Guides, and layouts will be implemented?
Not sure about the specifics you mention but new features will be introduced on a 6 weekly cycle.

For clarification: I don't think Dave means to suggest that new features will be introduced in the WEB APP every 6 weeks... or do you? It is my understanding that Faithlife will be moving to a 6 week cycle for the desktop app.
It is my understanding that new features will be added to the web app, but no time lines have been given. I think the goal is to make the web app experience as close to the desktop app as possible... New features will be added as they are ready.

Correct. The six-week release schedule is for the desktop app. The web app will get updates as soon as they are ready.

Thanks, Phil. I'm really excited about this development plan. Seriously, this is something I've wanted for a LONG time, and I know I'm not alone. I also understand leveraging the exclusivity of Logos Now data/early access in order to increase the Web App and Mobile App dev potential. Good to see you guys continuing to innovate. And I know you'll take care of the long-term users who want to retain a desktop/download model. I'm a both/and kind of guy.

No! I misread the question and answered for the Desktop Application

When (and I believe it is "when", not "if") the web app actually functions properly it will be a marvellous interface, however currently it is certainly not worth paying for and I very much doubt that it will be up to speed once the month free trial is over.
So lots of promise but no reason to subscribe yet.

All I am saying is that there is no reason to pay over cash for the web app now as it is nowhere near ready yet.

Agree. If the main functionality you'd be subscribing for is the web app (which it will be for me), now is not yet the time to subscribe.

The Web App definitely needs work. In fairness that isn't one of the features you are necessarily paying for if you read the wording carefully. The web app access is to the beta. In other words, a sneak peek.
What you are really paying for right now is development (of the web app) PLUS:
When you subscribe to Logos Now, you’ll get the following content, tools, and benefits:

This may be the wrong way to get into this conversation, so excuse my lack of understanding. My question/Comment is, what about windows phone 10? My understanding is that it will support any windows program. Would it not be easier to provide the appropriate formatting to logos 6 to run it on windows phone 10?

this has nothing to do with windows phone. There is a community pricing effort to bring a native app to that platform. I will see if I can find the link.

Windows 10 will run any Windows application, but Windows Phone 10 will not.

For clarification: they have put the app up for community pricing. If users REALLY want it, they will pay for it to go into development.

No.
No # 1 only works with Gen - Num, and a few other books. Try several OT books.
Open your library and find No. # 2.
Under Tools you will see the option to see all Interactives.
Others expand what was already there.

Curious, I cannot find how to use the Author slide and the Logos stock images. I cannot find where the slides are.

Is there going to be a beta so that those of us who have been beta testing for quite some time help iron out the problems in the web app. I know it's a beta as of now. Will we all be sort of beta testing or will some get earlier access to help test.
If so I hope I can be included, as I'd love to use this with my Chromebook. Right now it's pretty much useless. I can't even navigate to 1 Corinthians 13. I'm assuming this is because the web app is not really ready.

I agree Kevin - it's not even got the Biblia.com functionality on board yet. For example, Reading Plans don't appear on it at all. I love the idea, and hope it's going to be developed quickly. It will be great for those with things like Chromebooks, as you say, and might finally kill off the Linux thread!

It is likely that we will allow some users to opt into "pre-release" features, but we haven't sorted out all of those details, yet. (it is likely that the mechanism for opting into this will involve joining a Faithlife group)
As for your difficulties navigating, this is the first I've heard of such a thing, and I just confirmed that I can do so both via the command bar at the top and by entering the passage in an individual panel. Could you share more details of what's happening in your case?

I'm guessing I got bumped out. I closed the tab in Chrome and reopened one and it asked me to log back in and it worked.

Will the web app offer greater functionality on an android tablet than the current app when fully developed, or would it make more sense to use a Surface tablet? I really use my mobile devices more than the desktop, but often miss the full features of the desktop software.
