[unresolved] Multiple copies of the same Bible
I would like to have more than one copy of the New American Standard Bible. It would be helpful to have multiple copies that are highlighted differently and noted differently for use in specific settings. If such a thing is possible, how is it done?

You can have multiple copies open by right clicking on the resource tab and select open copy in new tab.
I am not sure if the two copies can have different visual filters applied.

No - the same visual filters are applied to all open copies of the same resource.

Consider using multiple Note files instead. You can switch on/off the associated highlights/annotations under Notes in the resource Visual filter menu.

Dave, if I understand your proposal correctly, this won’t work either. I’ve tried in the past (and just double checked it) to have certain notes turned on in one instance of ESV while turned off in another, but any selection/deselections made in one tab, instantly get replicated in the other tab. I’m not sure how difficult it would be to change this behavior, but it would be a nice little feature to have!

Dave was responding to the OP. Without the OP popping back in, we won't know... but as I read the OP it WILL work. The OP says nothing about having two copies of the same bible open at the same time...

The way that is written makes me believe the OP might want one set of notes for sermons, and another for devotional use, etc.

I was proposing multiple note files (one for each 'setting') and using one copy of the bible to switch on/off the associated highlights/annotations.
If you want individual settings for multiple instances of a resource make a suggestion at Uservoice (I couldn't find an existing suggestion)

Sorry, I misread!
Though it's not a big enough deal for me to use some of my "precious" votes on UserVoice, I find it a bit frustrating that I can't have filters apply to one instance and not to another. One situation that accentuates this frustration for me is the propositional outlines. With the filter selected, one can understandably see very little of the text (often approx. 1 verse). I would love to have one tab with the outline view, while the other tab retained the standard formatting so that it would be easier to stay "oriented" in regard to the entire discourse unit, while at the same time "drilling down" into the details.
Just noticed you're new here, so Welcome to the forums Bob! For your sake I hope that Dave's suggestion is what you needed.

Logos and Verbum can be open at the same time. With one or both offline, changes to NASB would not sync so highlighting choices can be different.
Note: have not installed Noet => https://noet.com/products/47339/noet-desktop-app so not know if Noet is viable for third NASB setting.

But doesn't having both Logos and Verbum installed replicate your entire resource directory structure? Some people can't spare the extra gigabytes on their hard disk just to be able to have different filters visible on the same resource simultaneously.
I agree it would be a good feature to have. Not greatly important to my own study workflow, though.

Yes! And documents, preferences, etc will have to be sync'd, meaning you can't have a version that will be totally offline and also meaning you have to be careful with the content of Note files (as per my suggestion).

Depends on work flow whether offline is viable. Relatively static notes and highlighting could be used offline since can sync later.
Linking resources across application(s) is a bit challenging.

I think there could be a way of running one or two of them without a library (of course, automatic download set to no) and scanning only those resources that are needed on this installation, but it requires much more in terms of managing this installation.
We have seen requests for partial libraries on desktop installations in the past (be it educators that want to mirror the student's installation, people working with very limited HD/SD/SSD space constraints etc.) - don't know if Logos considers supporting that one day. Scanning only a small number of resources obviously means hand-picking files for the resources to be present and is not for the average user.
Seeing two instances of a resource with different visual filters applied should not require such drastic measures at all - I wonder why this scenario is unsupported by Logos.
