I don't want to be charged monthly price.
You'll have to (1) cancel your monthly subscription (which is equivalent to not auto-renewing), (2) wait until your current month completes (optional, if you're in your free month or don't mind overlapping and missing out on part of a month), and (3) subscribe to the annual-billing option.
I did cancel my auto renew, and apparently it was renewed automatically today. (I subscribed since day 1)
Now I can't renew annual because the button is greyed out. So I'm lost.
Am I gonna get charged monthly? I just want annual to save 2 months.
Please help.
Call customer service which might transfer you to accounting but they'll take care of it.

If you subscribed on day one (April 6), your subscription would have renewed yesterday morning (May 6), unless you canceled before then.
You can either cancel, wait until your month finishes, and then switch over to annual, or you can call customer service and have them take care of it for you.
Good to know that the annual subscription is now possible. I did subscribe now [H]
Mine said it renews today. I cancelled and then checked my bank account. It didn't show as even a pending charge so I guess they haven't charged things today. So I bought the annual today.
To clarify: you do not need to wait for your monthly subscription to elapse before starting your annual subscription, and you do not need to call customer service.
Suppose you have a current monthly subscription that ends on June 6th. If you buy an annual subscription for the same product, it will automatically detect that you currently have access and it will post-date your new subscription to start on June 6th (and expire June 6th 2016). This is the best way to switch to an annual subscription. But please remember to also cancel auto renew on your old monthly subscription, otherwise you may be billed for a monthly renewal when June 6th 2016 rolls around.
As much as possible, we try to prevent accidental purchase of duplicate content, and preventing overlapping subscriptions for the same product is one of the ways we do so.
This didn't work for me. I cancelled auto renew but the annual subscription is still greyed out.
Thanks

Ah, right, I'd forgotten that we prevented purchase while the subscription is active. This guard is fairly new, and was another effort to prevent accidental purchases. (Even though it wouldn't be duplicate content--it would just extend the subscription--the website did not clearly call out this behavior in the checkout process.) We're working on better subscription management controls that will allow you to switch from monthly to yearly (or back) without having to place an order, but in the meantime I'm afraid you'll need to do either of the following:
I'm sorry that you cannot yet do this all yourself on the website. And thanks for reporting this issue.
