Just Couldn't Make It

Tried to down load New Testament Textual Criticism Collection (6 vol) on L3 on both computers and same result, one resource couldn't do it, The Text of the New
Testament in Contemporary Research, even though they did on L4.

I could say it's no big deal but it seems like some one didn't turn a switch. I just unchecked the box it failed on to get the others. Am I missing something,

I am not sure I fully understand your issue. In L3 you need to synchronize your licenses and then actually download the book and put it in your resource folder. L4 is automatic. Is that what you are asking? If not, reply back.

I synchronized my licenses and downloaded, my download would continually stop at 93% on the book I mentioned till it just quite and didn't allow any downloads to go through. I saw what book it was and unchecked the box to be downloaded, which then allowed everything to go through except that book. Now I sync again and check lone book to download and it continually got stuck at 10% so it just won't make it. This is all L3

You could try to load it from ftp://ftp.logos.com/lbxbooks/. Get the filename from the Resource Information in L4, but you are looking for filename.lbxlls and not filename.logos4.

Hi Dave,

No that didn't work. I have got to the point of downloading that file (book) that I'm missing from that collection and it makes it to 100% then it quickly does it again, from 0 to 100% and this is endless until I put a stop to it and says no changes has been made. This is L3

I've had this happen with other resources. As I recall I had to clear out my browser cache before retrying.

Something I've had success with when I've had L3 download problems in the past:

Shut down Libronix and Libronix Update if they're running.
Go in to this directory: C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Inbound
Delete all the files in that directory (but don't delete the directory)
Retry the Libronix Update again

P.S. Also make sure you're not short of disk space.

Deleted file, but no changes; browser cache; not fully understanding that, but I do have 200g left on hard drive.

If your browser is IE then go to Control Panel | Internet Options | General. You should find something like "Delete temporary files..." and Delete them.

If you get to 100% downloading via Libronix Update you might find the complete file in ....\Libronix DLS\Inbound. What is the filename?

Oh, Ok, so I did the Delete temporary files suggestion, which I do regularly anyway, I didn't catch on to what cache was, but I get it now.

Libronix DLS\Inbound the filename is NTCONTRES and it has 0 of the 2.56MB it needs to be installed.

I just downloaded that without a problem, but its date is 12/16/08 5:48AM - maybe different enough to try again or ask a friend to download for you.

Thank you all for the help, you were right on it.

A Logos Tech emailed me with the same info. looking into the same resource to directly download, but the file wouldn't save but it did go into my down load folder. So I dragged it to the resource folder on L3. And now it's in there. Funny how that one didn't want to go in with the others. I'm really comfortable with how they made the L3 folders simple for guys like me. Maybe L4 is easy too, but I'm scared to go there. Don't want to hurt a running L4.

Did you mean a running L3?

If so, remember that Logos 4 does not install over Logos 3. It leaves it just as it is. It installs a separate and new program. I have both running on my computer and go back and use features in L3 that are not yet in L4. You can scan the Logos 4 forum for the types of things (good and bad) that people are experiencing in L4.

The good part is you can get a discount now for upgrading to L4 but not after January 31. Even if you don't like Logos 4, if you get new resources in the course of the upgrade you can use them in Logos 3.

No, my L4 is running great, wouldn't want to touch it, because it is working to my liking. Just stating that L3 has a good set up so that some one like me can work with it.
