[ACK] Issues in Logos 6: Fonts in Notes & Highlighting Control

I just downloaded and installed the Logos 6 engine. I have not studied the tutorials yet, so there may be an answer there. I have noticed already that the fonts in Notes are not as easily changed as in 5. I used to be able to simply go to the dropdown, start to type the name of a font, and it would take me the section of fonts that began with the first letter (e.g., the Cs when I started to type Calibri). Now I have to scroll through the entire list. Not exactly efficient.
My second "dislike" about 6 is that there is not as much precise control with highlighting. When I try to highlight a phrase or word, if that phrase or word is part of an underlying unit (e.g., verbal phrase), then the highlight automatically extends to that unit and will not let me keep just what I want.
I imagine that there are wonderful improvements in 6, but these issues are an annoyance. Thanks for any help (or even sympathy

This is called "smart text selection" (known from e.g. Microsoft Word). You can turn this off permanently in the Program Settings

You have my sympathy if you are on a Mac:-) as the font selection works exactly as you described in Windows (I can type Ti and it will go to Times...)

Thanks, Mick. Much appreciated. Is there any reason why I might not want to turn it off? ~ Larry

Dave ~ It's not a Mac problem, since I was not having the problem before I installed the Logos 6 engine.

The ONLY reason to not turn it off is if you prefer the behavior of "smart select."

Then it's a regression for Mac users but not for Windows users of Logos 6.
You still have my sympathy for being on a Mac[:D]

And don't worry, Larry. It's not permanent in the sense that you can never get it back. It's a setting that you can toggle on and off.

Thanks, alabama. So far I prefer it off. Now if I could only figure out the font selection issue . . .

Sorry! I think this got skimmed over as answered by the Smart Selection response.
I can confirm that in L6 Mac you can't type a letter to shortcut to a font name, as you could in L5. I'll create a case for development.
