READ ALOUD for iPhone
How do I do READ ALOUD on the iPhone app? This would be really handy for listening to resources during my commute. Thanks!

- The mobile app doesn't have a "read aloud" feature, if by "read aloud" you mean a computerized "read aloud" of the text.
- iOS comes with some accessibility features for users with special needs, but I have no experience with those. A google search would be informative.
- Logos does have some audiobooks tied to some resources. A free one is the LEB. You can also get the ESV, but you must be online to use that translation.

Scott, you can use a built-in feature in iOS called "VoiceOver" it's amazing. I plan on writing up a whole blog post on it sometime soon, perhaps even complete with tutorial video. In the meantime, check out some of these links to get familiar with VoiceOver.
Basically, you want to turn on the triple-click setting so that when you're in the Faithlife iOS apps, you can just triple click your home button and it will turn on and off the read aloud (VoiceOver) feature.
Some of these links are about how to use VoiceOver on Kindle, but it's the same idea. So if you figure it out for Kindle, you'll figure it out for the Faithlife Apps.

Tim, I would like to know more how you're using VoiceOver. I've tried it, and it just drives me bonkers. It reads everything on the screen, including commands and controls. I just want it to read the text aloud. I was also having trouble with it stopping at the end of every verse. If I'm driving, I can't be tapping on the phone. I just want it to be reading hands free in the background instead of listening to the radio. Thanks!

Designing and building software for maximum accessibility is important and benefits everyone. The major OSs all have mature standards based support for text-to-speech. Let's see this fully implemented across the full compliment of Faithlife software.

TTS functions beautifully in the Google Play Books App on Android. Additionally many, not all, Zondervan titles allow TTS on that platform.

This blog post seems to explain how to get the Kindle Reader Apo to make use of iOS integrated TTS support.
Maybe using Send to Kindle is a workaround.

Personally, I like Accessibility > Speech > Speak screen with the Logos app. Two- fingers from the top for controls, and it flips the pages for you.
It also allows speaking in the background ... ie reading Noet, while I'm typing this. Now, with academic text, it really tries hard, for example, with Ugarit.

That's great confirmation - I was just looking over the UserVoice mobile apps site and saw Kevin's report that Faithlife apps support VoiceOver for iOS 7.
Everyone - if you haven't already, vote to Fully support VoiceOver text-to-speech! And when that's done please recast your votes in sympathy for Android app users enable read aloud or text to speech like in the desktop app.

I know, it takes some getting used to, because as it has been pointed out, being used by the general public as a text-to-speech feature was not its intended purpose, but with a little learning, you can harness its power. For starters, don't turn it on and use it in any other apps besides the one you want to use it in. Using the triple-click toggle switch I told you about, only turn it on when you're on the reading tab/view in the Logos app, and if you accidentally get out of that view, just triple-click to stop VoiceOver, and get back on track.
This is why I said I plan to do an instructional blog post/video on it soon, as it's kinda hard to explain it all here in a forum post. I'll post a link to my instructional post/video once I get around to posting it, ok?
