am about to buy a new Windows laptop. asked about configurations and got some good ideas. however, the "cream of the crop" - an i7 laptop - costs $1299. that's more than my budget. I looked at a dual core HP with 4 gigs of RAM and a 500 gig 7200 rpm HD that was $799. so I'm trying to determine if I really need to scrape up $500 more and get an i7. what I'm really asking is "just how fast is it? how fast is an i7? and how much slower is a dual core?"
it would really be helpful to see some load times. would you be so kind as to time how fast it takes Logos 4 to load up and then post that start time along with your configuration? anything else you think would be helpful to time would be appreciated to - maybe a search, maybe how long it takes for a Bible to load from the command line, etc.
would really appreciate some hard data to see just what I'm buying here and how it will act once I put Logos 4 on it. thanks!
