App stays busy after highlighting a word or verse

Hello everyone,  I have a Galaxy Note 4 and regularly use the Logos Bible App.  I have noticed that after I highlight a verse or part of the verse, the app stays busy for at least a minute (unable to do anything after that).  Is there a way to shut down "sync" until I am finished reading and highlighting?  or Is there any glitch that is causing the app to stay busy after doing a highlight?

Thank you for your help with this issue :)

    Hi Salvador,

Our servers indicate you have thousands of notes in the Emphasis Markup note document; it is not recommended to have so many notes in a single document, so you might consider organizing your note documents by book of the Bible, or similar.  Every time you add/change a note in that document it will take a while to re-sync.

As a workaround, I suggest putting your device in Airplane mode while adding notes/highlights and then when you are finished reading/highlighting turn Airplane mode off again so everything can sync.

Kevin, I'm not the original poster, but I benefited from your response too. Thanks.

Discovered I had 32k entries in my "Highlighter Pens" notes file! So I've created a new Note file and directed "Highlighter Pens" (in the Highlighting pane) to save in the new one. Hopefully that will change things.

Thank you Kevin for responding so quickly to my concern.  For clarity purposes, are you indicating that each time I highlight a verse or a word, it is being saved in the Emphasis Markup note document?  When you say add/change note, are you referring to highlights or actual notes (such as comments, etc.)?

No - it depends on how the "Documents for highlights" setting is configured.  If you navigate to the Home page and then open Settings, you'll see that you can configure your notes/highlights to save to particular Documents.

Also if you sign-in to http://documents.logos.com with your account information you can view which documents your notes/highlights are being saved to and how many are in each.

Both notes and highlights are saved to Note Documents.

Kevin, whenever I try to highlight something in my Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the program crashes. My "reporting" it has never been addressed in an email to explain. Now, when I go to settings to check out the Docs for Highlighting & press on it, the program crashes. Help please :)

    Angelia,

It appears that you have a very large image in the "Evil" custom markup style in the "My Markings" palette.  This image is causing out of memory errors on your Android device.  If you could use a much smaller image (or a scaled down one) the problem should resolve itself.

The issue causing the crash is fixed in the current beta. It might be best to optimize the images better in your custom styles, though. Performance will likely suffer on mobile devices with large images.
