Is there any way to get an estimate number of Logos customers who would purchase the Barclay commentaries? If so Logos could show this number to whoever holds the copyright.
Would this be helpful or a waste of time?
Thanks
Ron
Ronald,
Did you know they once were published in Logos format but the publisher decided to withdraw all their volumes from Logos and go in a different direction?
I think you might want to contact the publisher directly and ask under what conditions they might consider re-licensing Logos to publish that set. The publisher is Westminster/John Knox. You can find a contact for them on the Internet. My guess is Logos is interested and may keep in regular contact with them about this issue.
None of us here know Westminster's thinking about this decision, so it would be impossible to tell you if this would be helpful or not.
I did a search of WJK's website. They appear to have abandoned electronic publishing for anything by Barclay. All I could find for each work (and for various sets) was a link to Cokesbury to purchase paperback copies.
If you have E-Sword v8 or lower, Barclay's commentaries may be downloaded from ESNIPS.com.
Given that these resources are still in copyright, and esnips is a file-sharing site...
I seriously doubt this commentary is in this format with publisher permission, especially as it isnt metioned on the official e-sword commentaries page.
We can hope that the publisher allows us to have these again, but I would encourage everyone not to download it (especially from esnips.com)
I do have Barclay in another Bible software program. Right now I have a link on my shortcut bar in L4 that directly opens up Barclay, but I would prefer, and pay to have it in Logos.
