Mac Users: Update to Yosemite?

Hi,

When I bought my upgrade from Logos 5 to Logos 6, the week after launch, my Logos Rep advised me to stick with Mavericks for now, as there were some issues with Logos 6 and Yosemite.

My question is, should I now update to Yosemite, or are there still issues with Logos 6 and Yosemite. Also, would upgrading to Yosemite require a reinstall of Logos 6? Could someone using Logos 6 on Yosemite perhaps give me some advice on this issue.

I would stick with Mavericks as it works for me, but I want to use OneNote on my Mac, but it requires a minimum of Yosemite, which is why I am now again considering the upgrade.

If the specs of my Macbook are important in this decision they are:

Late 2014 Macbook Pro i7 2.2ghz, 16gb ram, 256gbHDD, Intel Iris Pro 1024mb graphics

I appreciate any advice anyone can give me.

Go for it Duncan - I have been using Yosemite from day one without problem. As far as I know there are no remaining issues. I even avoided the 'spurious alias problem' by launching Logos from Spotlight.

Please note that the latest Stable edition needs to be run from the applications folder the first time it is run. You can do this either from Launch Pad or from Spotlight.

I must admit that my 'hidden dock' tends to remain hidden these days as almost everything is done through Spotlight.

I've never had any problems with Logos on Yosemite at all, and there are probably all sorts of other reasons why you should be on the current supported version, as you have found with OneNote. I'd go with Mike's recommendation, but make sure you read the note at the bottom of the 6.4 release announcement on these forums - that's the issue Mike is referring to above.

I would only add one thing to what Mike and Greg has written. If you have Logos pinned to the Dock, you should remove it before you launch L6 from Launch Pad, SpotLight, or the Applications Folder. After that, you can once again pin it to the Dock if desired. This is the procedure I followed, and have had no other problems while running L6 with OS 10.10.

You mean remove the icon from the dock? Is the app running (it should not be)?

If you upgrade over top of the previous OS X or migrate from a current backup, Logos 6 will still be there. The only way that Logos 6 would NOT be there after upgrading is if you wiped your drive and started completely fresh.

If you are talking about removing the icon from the Mac Dock, then you need to click and drag it off and HOLD it for a moment until a "poof" cloud or the word "remove" appears. If the app is still running, it will remain in the dock until you quit it.
