Bible Sense Lexicon

It would be useful to have a search like: <Sense CONTAINS pray> (pray being just an example). This could essentially find all occurrences of senses where the string "pray" occurs in the label for the sense. It would be helpful for someone to conduct a search that contains all of the different senses associated with the topic.

Agreed with caveats ... this is not a request for an expansion of the BSL but a request to overlay the BSL with semantic domain coding which is a very good idea.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Yes, and please allow this search to be used in Visual Filters as well!

As described, I think that <Sense CONTAINS pray> would miss "to petition", "to intercede (petition)", and "supplication".
We have been working on adding some domain semantics to the Bible Sense Lexicon. The Factbook has "Senses" and in some cases "Domain" sections that list associated senses to the key topic. For example, the Factbook entry for "Prayer" lists a good number of associated senses. (Thought probably not all the ones you could possibly imagine. The boundaries of the "tennis problem" that MJ mentioned are fuzzy.)
I suspect that will make its way into some search features in the future. Nothing concrete enough that I can talk about it, but I'm making note of this (and the other) thread.
In the meantime, for searching and visual filters, OR is the answer: <Sense to pray> OR <Sense to pray (petition)> OR <Sense to pray ⇔ beg> OR <Sense supplication> OR <Sense to answer (prayer)> ...
