Some note file importing issues

Just starting to check these against the 3.0 originals. Note that I updated these per instructions before importing.

1. Lost some important formatting with scripture references (yes Deuteronomy is spelled wrong. My fault)

From this:

To this (pretty much a mess):

2. Some hyperlinks did not get imported. The black type entries were hyperlinks (working ones) in 3.0 but are no longer in 4.0b.

I'll keep checking.

This next one is a little hard to display.

    1. Two separate hyperlinks in 3.0 have been imported as the second of the two. Both now take you to the location of the second hyperlink as seen below:

    image

Here are the correct hyperlink locations shown in 3.0:

The first is linked to Trinity Journal Vol 12:

    image

The second to Evangelical Review of Theology Vol 22:

    image

    2.  It should also be noted that the imported link only takes me to the title page of the journal not the actual article location itself, as it does in 3.0.

The third example of a problem. I have a note file giving a scripture reference to Spurgeon's Sermons. Importing the note file all the hyperlinks were lost. Example:

    In 3.0:

    image

    In 4.0:

    Fourth example:

In this imported notefile the top four links are supposed to connect to Where to Find It in the Bible, the next two to New Nave's Topical Bible, the final one to Quick Scripture Reference for Counseling. All of the top four connect to the article 'Marriage' in WTFIITB. The two Nave's links connect to the article on Marriage in The New Nave's. The last link connects to the title page for the QSRFC. The links work fine in L3.

    image

Just one example of the correct response in 3.0:

    image

Here is the next section of the same note file. The links are mostly self explanatory. The last three links take me to the right spot. The first six open the right resource but all take me to the article on Marriage (noticing a trend??).

    image

It seems from all of the above that importing of links is not being done well. The note files with numerous links range in usefulness from 'close to 3.0' to 'not useful at all.'

Could you please attach the LDLS 3 notes file that reproduces the import issues?

    Thanks

Here is another one. The first author in Vol 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 11, and 12 did not convert as a hyperlink. The rest came out fine and go right to the correct location.

    Another example.

    In the Photos section:

Ruins of Phiippi opens to the title page of the correct resource (note that the link in 3.0 does not open to the location described for some reason, but at least goes to the article on Philippians).

Ampitheater opens to "Marriage' in the correct resource

    In the Maps section:

Paul's second missionary journey opens to 'Palestine in the Time of Christ' map in the correct resource.

    In the Articles section:

Fellowship opens to 'Marriage' in the correct resource.

Beta 3 did nothing to fix this one. It produces the same linking problems.

This one is completely correct with Beta 3.

    From this:

    image

I now have two Scripture entries in my 4.0 note file. The first has the old messed-up formatting, the second has it done correctly. Perhaps the deleting function didn't remove the first?

    This one is now fine.

All but the last of these seems to work correctly in Beta 3. The last one has no hover over display and opens only to the title page of the reference (Quick Scripture Reference for Counseling).

Here is the next section of the same note file. The links are mostly self explanatory. The last three links take me to the right spot. The first six open the right resource but all take me to the article on Marriage (noticing a trend??).

    image

In this section the link to BEB does not work any better. The rest work fine.

    In the Articles section:

Fellowship opens to 'Marriage' in the correct resource.

Ruins of Phillipi still misdirected to the title page.

    Amphitheater opens correctly.

The map link still opens to the same wrong map.

The link for Fellowship now opens to an article on 'The Lord's Supper'. Yes it should open to something like that (the correct link is to the article on Communion) but in this case Communion is NOT the Lord's Supper.

So Beta 3 didn't do much to fix the problems in this file.

Perhaps the deleting function didn't remove the first?

Usually this happens because of inadvertent edits to the note. As mentioned on http://wiki.logos.com/Importing_from_LDLS3#Additional_information, any changes to an imported note will clear the link. A subsequent import will, by design, pull in a fresh, un-edited copy of the LDLS3 note.

Jacob, a Talbe of Contents was produced for the "Fathers."

It was able to be loaded as a Note file and to be placed into the FAvorites files.

In Libronix 3 it was hyperlinked. I do not have a screen shotbut mine now are simply "words" a different color perhaps but they now have no hyper-links.

If this is the case for everyone, At first I suspected that it was because of the differing resource files names in L4 as opposed to Libronix 3. But now I think the  reason might be that the TOC was constructed from within the PBB engine with the proper hyperlinks etc. As we do not have a "working" PBB for files in L4, then none of these would work anyway.
