Is there a way to set the default aspect ratio for Visual Copy slides? I'm much more likely to use/share 4:3 than 16:9, which seems to be the default setting even when switching backgrounds.
I am seeing the feature remembering the last aspect ratio I used. Are you seeing something else?
Yes. It always opens to 16:9 for me, regardless of the last aspect ratio I used. It doesn't look like setting a default is possible. Thanks for your help!
I would like to know the answer to this question as well. I cannot see where to change the default.
I don't think so, but what platform are you running? I don't know if it is still "sticky" for Fred (who runs windows), but it is not for me on Mac.
It's sticky for me on Windows.

I am not able to reproduce this on Mac. Can you provide steps or a screencast? Maybe it's a specific image that's not being remembered?
When you select 4:3, the next time the tool comes up, the 4:3 setting should be the new default until you choose 16:9 again.

Here are some screen shots. In the first two, I am making a 1:1 (square) slide from the ESV. Immediately afterwards, I try to make a 1:1 (square) slide in another resource... no joy.

This is because the square ratio (1:1) is not available for all images. You will need to select an image that offers a square ratio then it will use the default 1:1 selected.
OK, well fine. Why doesnt it show 1:1 images? I didn't select the image presented! If a user selects 1:1, then 1:1 images should be the first to pop up.
Also, why doesnt an aspect ratio box show in the fourth screen shot? Even if the image only has one aspect ratio, it should still show! The other options should be greyed out!

I can confirm that this is working for me (see below). I still maintain, however, that if a user wants to ALWAYS view slides of a certain aspect ratio, those should be the ones presented.

Understood. It's working up to spec as is, but we'll re-evaluate the spec at some future point.
Thanks Eli. I can affirm it is working as described. If Richard (the OP) is still having issues, he will need to report back.
