Is it just my PC, or is Psalm Explorer wickedly slow?

Hi guys,
I haven't used Psalm Explorer since the last update of Logos 6 (6.4 S-R 6.4.0.0065). I am running a Core i-7 with 14Gb Ram on a 256Gb SSD. Psalm Explorer was always nippy and the bubble animations was fun to watch. Now it is wickedly slow and jerky. I rebooted my pc, cleaned every cache I could and opened Logos with only Psalm Explorer running. I am unable to cure this. Is there a way to find out what is causing this, and is this "slowness" only limited to Psalm Explorer or is other tools also affected?
Thanks in advance.

37 views already and no reply, so I guess it is just my pc. Will attempt to update my graphics and try a few other tweaks.

Please guys,
would someone (who recently updated Logos and who have Psalm Explorer) just open Psalm Explorer and see if the bubble animations are running VERY slowly. Just want to know if this problem is limited to my PC. Please

Sarel, mine seems to be running the same as always. I am using L6.4 for Mac with the latest SR on a MBP 2012.

I just tested it on Window 7 with Verbum 6.4 SR-3 and it seems fine. Sorry you are having some challenges with this!

Thanks guys,
That is what I wanted to know! No I can start looking at my PC for the problem. Did not want to seek a fault in my PC if the problem was Logos related. The slowness of the Psalm Explorer is not so much the problem as the thought that Logos might be unnecessarily sluggish in other areas as well because of a fault with my pc.
Thanks again.

I am running my Logos 6 program on two PC's. My PC in my study that I use daily (which is the one giving me trouble) and a small 10" Lenovo I use when on the road. My Psalm Explorer ran perfectly on my small PC, but on my "Big" PC it crawls. I attempted various possible solutions to find the problem - uninstalling and reinstalling various programs and software like .Net Framework etc.
My biggest puzzle was why Psalm Explorer ran faultlessly on my small pc. At last I looked at the version and realized that my small PC is still running a previous version (I never updated after the last update - It was running 6.4 SR-2 6.3.0.0074) while my "big" PC ran I updated my small PC to the newest version, an lo and behold: Psalm Explorer is developed a wicked stutter. After the update to 6.4 SR-3 6.4.0.0065 it is hideously SLOW.
Thus it appears as if the problem is not related to my PC, but rather to the newest update. Could someone please check this also.
My Big PC is a Core i7, 14GB, Windows 7 Prof 64 Bit, 256GB SSD
My small PC is a Lenovo Intel Celeron N2806 1.6Ghz, 4Gb, Windows 8.1 64 Bit.
Is there a way to return to an earlier version of Logos?

Sarel, I'm running the 6.5 Beta 2 and see this as well as other "slow downs" reported. It is also taking the program 5 to 6 seconds longer than it normally took to open as well. In the PBB slow down thread, it was noted by a FL Rep, hopefully these slow downs will be corrected.

You might try posting the results from running the Logos Performance Tool (though I don't remember if it monitors GPU performance):

Make sure you also have logging enabled.

Thanks for the report. One of our developers is taking a look, and is able to recreate the slow performance problem.

We've identified the source of the slowdown and fixed it. Look for improved performance in 6.5.

I see that Psalm Explorer updated this week. It is still extremely slow, so I was just wondering what was updated.

According to Jacob's response the speed improvements will be seen in 6.5 (which should be released on August 10). The update that you are seeing is likely to accommodate the supplemental data that will be used for a future dataset.

Hi Barry, I noticed the same thing. At least they are fixing the problem. I use Psalm Explorer quite a lot.

Also, I forgot to mention that the supplemental data is anticipated for Logos Now subscribers. I don't know if you currently subscribe or not, but I figured that I would at least make that known as well.
