Note icons missing

When I create a new note in Logos 5 the icon within the Bible text often fails to appear. For example, I may use the 'Add note' command to add several notes one after the other within a single session, with no change of open resources, and some note icons appear and others don't.

How can I achieve a consistent display of the icons?

If I understand the problem correctly, the note indicators appear in some resources, but not in others. If that is the case, it is likely that notes, or possibly just the note file in question is not turned on for that resource. Click the visual filter button in the resource pane (that is the one where three dots are arranged in a triangle and scroll down to notes. Insure note are turned on AND that the note file in question is also selected.

Thanks Fredc, but not quite. The visual filter is good, and everything worked perfectly for a long time before becoming sporadic.

Imagine you are looking at a particular passage and you intend to make 3 notes. You create them one after the other with the intention to fill out their content as your study progresses. All 3 notes are created OK, but anywhere between 0 and 3 note icons appear in the Bible text. You can click on the note reference and the Bible text will go as normal to the top of the screen with the flashing circles to indicate where the icon should be, but it is not visible. The problem of course is the opposite scenario - reading through your Bible without any indication that a note exists for the passage.

Is your "Add note" done from the right click menu within the resource?

Assuming that is so, do you have the selected text highlighted on the right hand side of the menu, or the bible reference?

Assuming you've done all of that correctly you should call Tech Support as things are different in Logos 6 (I assume you have Logos 5 because you posted to the Logos 5 forum. Any reason not to update to Logos 6?).

Hi Dave and thanks for your input.

I have used the right click method; mostly I use the command box, e.g. 'Add note Matthew 1:1 to David's Notes'. Why? From time to time I want to put a summary on a longer passage, up to an entire book.

Please try Tech Support as I suggested above. If there is a software bug in Logos 5 it may not be fixed as Logos 5 maintenance extends to fixing "critical" bugs; so a free upgrade to Logos 6 may be your only recourse (if possible on your machine).
