I do most of my reading on my iPad (2). I mark my reading with highlights. However, my highlights may take days to sync to my MacBook Pro. Sometimes it does not sync at all. Any suggestions about what I am doing wrong?

    Hi Freddy

Syncing is a two-stage process - highlights sync from a device (in this case your iPad) to some Logos servers and then from there down to other devices (in this case your MacBook Pro). It would be useful to know where the delay is happening.

Highlights are stored in Notes documents and if you know which document you are storing your highlights in you can check whether they are being synced to Logos servers by going to https://documents.logos.com/ opening the relevant document and checking if the highlight is there.

Doing this would help narrow down where the problem is - and whether it is an iPad issue or a Mac issue.

If you are able to check on this and report back that would be helpful.

If it doesn't make sense or don't know how to do some of it pleased advise and we can explain further

Hi Graham: Thanks for the quick reply. I went to the server you suggested. I saw that the notes were as recent as yesterday, which is when I did almost all of my reading (on my iPad). However, when I checked my MacBook Pro today, the last three books (of 17) did not have the highlighting updated. It seems as if there is a time delay between the time I finish my reading on my iPad and when it gets put on to my MacBook.

There will always be a time delay, but it doesn't have to be long. The sync goes from device "a," to the cloud, and then to device "b." Syncing doesn't happen automatically on the desktop immediately after a highlight, but rather a periodic sync occurs. I honestly don't know how often the mobile app syncs, but you can kill the app and reopen it to force a sync. If the mobile app doesn't sync before you close the app (or while you have Internet), you will obviously not see the new highlights on the other device.

So I think you are seeing that notes are being synchronised as you would expect up to the Logos servers

However, when I checked my MacBook Pro today, the last three books (of 17) did not have the highlighting updated. It seems as if there is a time delay between the time I finish my reading on my iPad and when it gets put on to my MacBook.

So this suggests we need to look at issues on the Mac and explore question as to whether you are getting any sync errors

I suggest you start a new thread in the Logos 6 forum - https://community.logos.com/forums/124.aspx - with a cross-reference to this one for context.

Please outline the problem, state the version of Logos 6 software you are running and we'll go from there.
