Slow Download Speeds?

Hello everyone,
I have recently re-installed Logos 6 on my home laptop but it is now taking an extremely long time to download resources. It has been going for about 6 hours now and has only downloaded 3%! At this stage I can only access a fraction of my library which is making preparing studies more challenging. My Library is only 11.58GB in size so it shouldn't really take more than a couple hours. I have used both my home internet and the internet at work (a university so superfast) and it makes no difference. I don't remember it taking this long before, is this normal?
Thanks
Nathan

Download speed is typically going to be external to the program itself. In other words, a re-installation of Logos 6 shouldn't be the issue with the slow download speed. It is either the internet connection (although it seems that you have tried multiple sites) or it could be high demands on the Logos server at the time of download (although this would seem unlikely).
What speed is you home internet? Was the prior download done at home or school?

Hi John,
Thanks for replying. I have 100mb Fibre Broadband at home. Last time I downloaded my library was at home and there was no issue at all, I believe it took in the region of a few minutes, maybe an hour; then a little while to index everything. My suspition is that the Logos servers are running slow but I don't have anyway to confirm this.

I know that you were experiencing some other issue, but there really shouldnt be a reason to need to redownload everything. If the app is corrupted, proper logs typically will reveal which file(s) need to be rebuilt. Redownloading your library is overkill.
As for the present issue, could your ISP be throttling you?

The ISP doesn't throttle since this is the University's internet which is showing plentiful speed when I do tests. Now that I have re-installed Logos 6 on this machine it will be required to re-download the Library again, I'm just confused as to why it is taking so long. Performance Monitor is indicating that Logos is downloading at only a few hundred bits a second! Whilst other programs are working at usuall speeds of a few MBits/s

only if you deleted the library and emptied the trash. If you haven't, you can reinstall the app and use the scan method to avoid the download.

Good call!

Oh... I should have added: I worked in IT for a university and know that, at least in my case, a university can and does throttle certain domains. Once they determine large downloads are coming from someplace unexpected, they can throttle or block it to prevent fraud / excessive use, etc.
