Playing videos on Proclaim through a Windows 10 machine?

Technically, it is correct to say that Proclaim "runs" on Windows 10, but it doesn't seem to have the ability to play any videos (particularly mp4's) any more.  My understanding is that it only interfaces with Windows Media Player (WMP) and that is no longer supported on Windows 10.   I upgraded one of my computers from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and the WMP is still working - on that computer Proclaim is properly playing mp4 videos.  But on others that upgraded from Windows 8 to 10, the WMP was disabled during the installation and Proclaim will not play any videos.

I use Proclaim for children's ministry and we use The Gospel Project curriculum that has great videos.  I can't upgrade my computer until I am sure I can use the videos during my lessons.

Any solutions?

Hi Marcia - Welcome to the forum we will do our best to help you with any problem you may be having.

The trouble is that I don't know the actual answer to this one. :-(

I do know however that the information you posted above cannot be correct because WMP is not present on Mac machines (which I run).

The native MP4 player on a Mac is QuickTime - there is a version for windows - you could try installing that to see if it helps.

I upgraded two of my PCs from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 last week and Proclaim seems to run .mp4 files fine on both those machines. I also have Windows Media Player available as a desktop application, so the upgrade to Windows 10 didn't remove that program.

What specific version of Windows 10 did you upgrade to? If it's the Windows 10 N or KN version you can download a free bundle from Microsoft which enables WMP.

Thank you so much!  That was just what needed. I was aware of the 8.1N Features pack but it would not load on Win10.  But I couldn't find any reference to a 10N Features pack. They sure have hidden it well or I really didn't know where to look. Thanks for the link!
